Powerful wisdom for EVERYONE, not just women.
I was fortunate to help edit a very early version of this book. What this book has done for me, through its stories, teachings, meditations, and integration exercises, is to be profoundly changed for the better, because now I see, understand, and connect with my relationships, my work, my culture, and myself through the lens of the Divine Feminine, which is not just a beautiful, loving and compassionate presence, but an ever-inspiring, naturally powerful force within us all, no matter the body or circumstances we inhabit. This book has helped me channel my inner Durga when I’ve needed to set boundaries and assert my needs, connect with my inner Lakshmi to access indescribable joy and contentment, besides current circumstances being challenging, and I am learning how to flow my unique soul expression with the help of Saraswati. This book, like Acharya Shunya’s other books, is written in her unique conversational style. English is her second language, and I think this is part of her effectiveness, because the twists she adds to her English phrasing are often arresting and really make you think twice. If you watch any of her many videos on YouTube or listen to her podcast, and then re-watch, or re-listen, you’ll discover that each time, you’ll pick up some new gem of wisdom you didn’t perceive the 1st time around (or the 2nd or 3rd…) This is because, in her lineage, and through her own gift for transmitting knowledge, each phrase, each word, is ripe with layers of meaning that unfold over time, with repetition. This is a book to read again and again, to unlock wisdom, personal power and peace for life. I also purchased the audio version from Sounds True (and it is available here on amazon/audible). I highly recommend the audio version (read by the author herself) in addition to the book, especially for the Contemplation sections at the end of each chapter, which are greatly expanded upon in the audio version. Each one is like a fantastic mini-workshop with Master Teacher Acharya Shunya.

Discover my authentic voice and power that accompanies our innate wisdom
As an Indian woman living in the USA and having earned multiple degrees, I have come across countless books that promise personal growth and empowerment. However, none have resonated with me as deeply as "Roar Like a Goddess: Every Woman's Guide to Becoming Unapologetically Powerful, Prosperous, and Peaceful" by Acharya Shunya. This remarkable book is a transformative journey that taps into the wisdom we all possess, allowing us to step into our divine immensity and lead lives filled with power, abundance, and wisdom. Acharya Shunya's words serve as a guiding light, empowering not only women but everyone everywhere to embrace their authentic selves unapologetically. What sets this book apart is its unique blend of Vedic wisdom and self-empowerment advice. Drawing inspiration from Hindu goddesses, Acharya Shunya beautifully illustrates how these divine feminine archetypes can serve as exemplars for women in the modern world. Through her insightful teachings, she provides practical tools and techniques to navigate life's challenges, awakening our consciousness and expanding our horizons. One of the most compelling aspects of "Roar Like a Goddess" is its inclusivity. It speaks not only to Indian women but to every woman, regardless of her background or cultural heritage. Acharya Shunya's message transcends boundaries, reminding us that the path to empowerment is open to all. This book has been nothing short of life-changing for me. Acharya Shunya's profound insights have helped me tap into my inner strength and embrace my own power. Her guidance has provided me with the courage to overcome obstacles, discover my voice, and help other women return to their innate divine wisdom.

The Goddess is for Everyone!
I’m a woman and I’m a U.S. citizen. Which means I'm well acquainted with the kind of patriarchy and misogyny that paints itself as seemingly liberated while functionally disempowering. Acharya Shunya’s Roar Like a Goddess shines a light on the myriad of subtle (and often confusing) ways that all of us, regardless of gender, are living without our whole power when we deny our divine feminine goddess self. Instead of an indictment of men, this book is an invitation to all of humanity to explore universal Vedic Goddess teachings, and embrace MORE of Divine Consciousness itself. From learning about three primary avatars of the Goddess - Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, readers are introduced to personal power, abundance, and wisdom - as feminine qualities and values, inclusive of all, not rooted in the debasement or suppression of others. This feels remarkable to me - an inclusive invitation to SHARE in personal excellence instead of engage in the modern competitive hierarchical survival-based view of the world and relationships. It’s amazing to me, that these teachings are rooted in the oldest traditions on earth, and that they have stood patiently waiting for us to rediscover. For those of us in female, trans, mixed, two-spirit, and non-binary gender forms, this invitation to explore and embrace the Divine Feminine feels like a promise finally fulfilled. There are three main sections of the book and many exercises and contemplations throughout that I look forward to practicing. The print book has some gorgeous goddess illustrations that are exquisitely detailed and I’m itching to get my color pens out to draw on…. I have also bought the audible version as it is narrated by the author herself and there are additional practices and sounds. I am looking forward to listening to that as I enjoy guided meditations. I highly recommend this book for anybody interested in embodying their best self.

Very good read. Exactly what I needed. This is the first book about the goddesses that really makes sense to me, it is written in such a simple, understandable way even for beginners. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Indian goddesses and how to use them to empower yourself and others.

Time to stop whimpering and start roaring!
“Roar like a Goddess” is the latest book authored by Acharya Shunya, an entrepreneur, spiritual guide and Ayurveda practitioner. Her organisation,Vedika Global, Inc., has helped and supported many people in their spiritual journey for leading a fulfilling life driven by a deep understanding of self.“Roar like a Goddess” takes this to the next level and addresses a core spiritual gap that could affect nearly everyone, including and more importantly - womenfolk and those who are, or prefer to be, recognised as differently gendered. The book refers to the stories of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati and draws a parallel with situations of modern life that women and the differently gendered encounter constantly, i.e. of control, compliance, condescension, discrimination, disparity, disrespect, exclusion, non-inclusion, violence… (it’s like an A-Z list), done overtly, covertly or worse still, hidden behind facades of congeniality. The comparisons between stories from thousands of years ago to everyday nuisance, irritation, threat and abject danger that is faced by women and the differently gendered are so stark that it amazes anyone like myself, who is not as aware of our heritage, on the profoundness of the stories that come from our Vedas and is a testimony to the depth of knowledge that has been brought into the book by the author. The book further refers to the stories of the Goddesses and provides in a structured format how one can realise their inner self, pick themselves up and then act upon the situations they are in to be able to simply assert their existence, the way they want it to be - unapologetically. Not just women, I believe even men should read this book to clear their perspective, become aware of their own behaviour and start taking corrective action within and around themselves; because there is simply no excuse to not be nice.It is an exciting read, an epithet that many may not immediately associate with the self-help genre, but something that makes this book an absolute delight to read!
