S. Parker Self Closing Slim Spring Hinges 4-1/2" X 4-1/2" for Medium and Heavyweight Metal Or Wood Doors in (Set of 3 Hinges) (Satin Brass)

They are beefy but they have a lot of slop in them. Out of the 6 hinges I got only one of them was tight without a lot of side to side movement. The other 5 hinges I would consider loose. When I tightened the springs up it got better but I still had my heavy door sag to the bottom hinge. I had to use shims to keep the margins equal on the hinge side which I shouldn't have had to do.The hinge came with 12 machine screws and 12 wood screws. So unless you have a wood door in a steel frame you would be missing the other half of the screws.The spring action worked well after I got the hinges balanced out with shims.

Recently completed a reno and my cabinet hardware and door handles are all satin brass. These are not an exact match to my Emtek Handles and Lewis Dolin pulls, but they’re very close. No one but me would know they’re not the same. And they work great. The door from the garage into the house is 9’ tall and very heavy, and my carpenters were able to adjust these to get the perfect amount of tension.

Excellent build quality. Very heavy and fit right in where my prior hinges were. I got the polished chrome ones and they matched up with the other trim chrome in my house. I like also that they have a self closing feature and that you can adjust the strength of the close.

I have to install the hinges still but they seem well crafted. My only concern is that this model does not seem to have a 'breaking force' adjustment to allow you to have enough spring pressure to close a door but with a breaking force at the end to prevent it from slamming the door. Once I have it installed I will know better if I have to purchase another type of hinge that gives me breaking option as well. (like the Waterson brand has)

Performs as described, quality seems consistent with other commercial door hinges we have, time will tell. Included directions are not clear and difficult to understand. Be sure to install the hinge with the hex screw end upright (on top, not bottom) to ensure door is assisted in closing, not opening.
