Writes very well. The lead rotates unlike other mechanical pencils that you have to turn when the point becomes blunted. Good news about the packaging: it appears to provide a wealth of information about the pencil. Bad news: all of the text is written in Chinese characters.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to my writing utensils and typically jump around between different stuff for taking notes or doing homework. This has been my go to for the past year and I don't plan on ever changing it out. Once you get used to the rotating lead it ruins the writing feel of traditional mechanical pencils. It's so consistent in line quality which is especially important for someone like me who writes smaller.

My husband loves this for doing Sudoku.

The only downside I can say about it is: I wish it had came with lead in the pencil.

The Kurutoga mechanical pencil is one of the few pencils that actually have a mechanism of action beyond the lead. Internally it has a mechanism that spins the lead to keep the lead even.Most pencils utilize new lead technologies to reduce lead count which works great but those lead products and this pencil really do create a truly amazing synergy. I compare using this pencil to writing with a ballpoint pen.

The media could not be loaded.  Let me break it down for this pencil – started off a bit odd to write with, but got the hang of it, and now I'm digging the consistent strokes. The see-through design is a winner, giving off modern vibes, and the rotation trick? Genius move for that steady tip. Major kudos to the brilliant minds who nailed this!

I like drawing manga and have been looking for the perfect mechanical pencil and this one comes the closest to what I think I want. I’ve used a lot of mechanical pencils from Walmart trying to find the right fit. None are as good as this pencil, I prefer .5 lead size for line work, the fact that the lead rotated as you use it keeps your lines consistent, and is something I didn’t know I needed.My only complaints are that the eraser is tiny but I almost never use pencil erasers as they usually smudge so that’s not a big deal at all a separate eraser is always my go too.If your looking for a solid pencil for drawing or if you just like writing with a pencil look no more, I’ve never used a $100+ mechanical pencil but dollar for dollar this can’t be beat, I low key love this pencil it is my spirit pencil.

So I wanted some time to pass before I made this review it’s been officially three weeks since the mechanical pencil has been delivered to my home and it has been amazing so far. I’ve practically used the pencil everyday since I’ve got it and it’s been a great investment.
