It works as advertised!
I have a 2016 Honda Pilot Elite which has captain’s chairs in the second row. I needed a way to prevent my German Shepard from walking between the seats from the cargo area into the passenger compartment. I looked at a number of solutions that used a pressure fit solution between the floor and ceiling to stay in place. Many of those seemed a bit cumbersome to install when I may only need it in place for a day or two at a time. I also read reviews where people had said that these sometimes fell over on their pets. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this product and how it just hangs from the headrests but I have to say that it works quite well. It’s the perfect size vertically for my vehicle and the width goes even wider than my fairly large vehicle. The tubing is smaller in diameter, ½” OD, than I had envisioned. At first, this disappointed me but I have come to realize that it’s the perfect size. Large enough to do the job but small enough not to interfere much with vision in the rear-view mirror. The assembly was quick and easy. Once I knew how wide I wanted to set the trombone style side bars I used electrical tape to prevent any of the parts from moving, making it into one solid cage. Installation is super easy needing only to wrap one bungee cord around each headrest support and clip it to the rack. The first-time adjustment of the bungee cords took some time to complete. I wanted to make it tight enough that the cage wouldn’t move around too much but not so tight that it would be hard to install each time I used it. I can now literally install or remove it in less than 30 seconds. Once it’s installed it hangs perfectly in place and prevents my dog from going between the seats or around the headrests. It doesn’t sway or slide much and is pretty much silent. It might hit on a side wall while cornering really hard but that’s about it. The only way I know it’s there is that I see it in the mirror. While I do think this cage works well I also think it’s overpriced. I’m sure it could be sold for about half the cost as there is really nothing to it. You could probably make something on your own that would work as well, but who wants to do that. I bought it and the money is gone so it's a done deal. It was worth it in the end to have a product that works easily and effectively, goes in and out quickly, and won’t fall over on my dog.

Works great in 2020 Outback
This works great, and was super easy to install. Finally something that my very large hound dog can step over, or push aside.Secured well at the headrests, but I wish there was a way to secure at the bottom.

Pricey but sturdy
I drive a minivan which currently has all of it's seats pulled out, given that right now I'm only carrying mostly light cargo with it. My concern is that in an accident, some of this cargo could come forward and injure me. I don't want to modify the vehicle in a permanent way with a built in barrier, like commercial vans, but I'd like some protection. So I'm using this divider to restrain inanimate objects for my safety in an accident--not's it's intended purpose. I looked at all of the dividers I could find and read countless reviews. I wanted sturdiness, no permanent damage or modifications to the vehicle, and continued unimpaired rear vision. This product delivers on all of those points. First, let's start with some drawbacks. It comes with pretty junky bungy cords. Given the collection I've built up over the years, this was a total non-issue. I used the ones that came with it to hold the top and bottom sections of the frame together. Second, dogs are going to easily figure out how to move the ends in on this divider--you'll wind up taping them. Third, it's not necessary, and I installed it alone, but having a helper would make installation much easier. Fourth, I think, like so many other people that you should use lower bungy cords in addition to upper ones, which I did. When you use lower bungy cords, it no longer moves "so easily" with the seats. Fifth, I think it should probably cost $80-$100. So then after all of this why did I buy "The ZooKeeper" and rate it so highly? It was simply the only barrier I could find that met my "non-permanent" modification criteria that I thought could really possibly save my life in an accident neglecting all price considerations. I asked myself what I thought my life was worth (I'm not dumb enough to ask anyone else) and stepped up to the plate and paid the premium price. It does give me a decent amount of extra peace of mind, which I truly feel is merited, so I'm a happy customer. However, I will be working diligently not to test my purchasing thesis though.

5 Stars Because It Does What I Need It To Do
This barrier does what I need it to do--it keeps my dog in the back seat of my Ford Fusion, while I am in the front seat. My seats automatically glide forward and back as I get in and out of the car, and this barrier moves with the seats without a hiccup.Along with that, it is lightweight and adjustable, and the pieces fit together precisely. Although the barrier is not robust, it does the job as well as a lightweight, adjustable barrier can. Most of the issues I read about in the negative reviews are inherent in the adjustable design. You could certainly weld a cage or fabricate a plexiglass barrier that would be stronger, but you would not have the same adjustability and vehicle-to-vehicle versatility.

EXCELLENT pet barrier!
I love that this carrier is adjustable enough to slide the bars and the gate can move with the seats should they be pushed back or tilted back. It is just PERFECT! So glad I bought this. The only additional thing that we did was used a bungie cord at the bottom of the carrier to keep that from flopping around. Would highly recommend!
