I almost didn't buy this light because of the reviews that said the installation was tricky. But there were plenty of reviewers who said installation was easy, so I took a chance. Installation is, in fact, easy. But the instructions that come in the package are lousy, making an easy job befuddling. With all the run on sentences, sentence fragments, and non sentences, you can't really figure out what they want you to do. Fortunately the drawings are pretty good.The trickiest part was removing the platform that the circuit board sits on. I was worried about cracking the plastic, but the platform came out when I used a flat head screwdriver under all 4 slots. The rest of the installation was easy, even in my this-old-house which is usually full of surprises.The features of this light go beyond the standard motion sensor lights. There is a dawn-to-dusk setting, a standard motion sensor setting, and this nifty ambient setting which stays off during the day, at 20% when no one is in the room, and switches on to max when you enter the room. Great for a back porch or utility room. And the quality of the light is surprisingly good considering this is not an incandescent light.One thing to note when you're configuring the settings is that the tiny switches are delicate. They're too small to adjust with a finger, and I broke one adjusting it with a screwdriver. Maybe use the head of a straight pin or something.

I really like this light, but am dropping one star from my rating because the internal construction is made up of very fine connectors. I had a problem with the lamp when I bought the first one. I inserted to heavy a gauge of wire into the connector and when I tried to remove it, the connectors broke off and were too delicate to repair. Also, no wire is supplied with the light, so if you do not have long enough wires coming from your ceiling or wall, you will have to run out to buy additional wire to install this, which I ended up having to do..I thought the light met my needs, so I ordered another one right away. With the second one, I used a smaller gauge wire to connect and was very careful putting it together, so all went well. Now that the light is up in my carport, I am very happy with it. The light is plenty bright to fully light the two car carport, the motion sensor reacts exactly as advertised and I know the energy usage is very low due to the LED lights. In summary, this is a great light, but be very careful when installing it.

I bought one fixture, and installed it in my Condominium building stair well to demonstrate to my Association that 36 fixtures should be changed out, that would, and are be burning 24 hours a day, This fixture was easy to install, Uses 59% less power than a florescent fixture, puts out more lumens than the existing fixtures, and only turns on when someone opens a stairway door. The dip switches and directions for programming are easy to understand. It works perfectly, I am a licenced Electrician, and when I say "Easy Installation", ( that means even my Democrat brother could install it!)

Well made but three cons, the last worse than the other two:1) Unit must be completely disassembled (7 small, self tapping, Philips screws) to connect power to back of LED panel (2 wire-no ground), and to mount to junction box or wall/ceiling.2) One warning reads verbatim: 'Avoid installing where temperature or humidity is high.' Bought this unit to install in carport--in Florida, where temperature and humidity are always high. Hopefully a quarter cup of dry rice inside the lens will compensate for this warning not printed in the online product descriptions or specifications.3) Adjustments for sensitivity range, duration of illumination from on to automatic shutoff, and brightness are controlled by six binary dip switches. Unit could be easily programmed, except the instructions have but a glancing resemblence to grammatically correct English.One instruction reads verbatim: 'By Dip switch 5 to set with "0" position when the illumination is started depending on the level of environmental darkness at night or with "1" position for daylight level and the occupancy area as desired. (refer: Fig. 7, 8)'Through intuition plus trial and error was able to arrive at desired setting. Time consuming and the lens must be removed to access the tiny dip switches (2 screws) to change.

One of our HOA park bathrooms was vandalized destroying the ceiling light fixture. We wanted one that would turn on with movement and provide a lot of light using LED's. This one is perfect, streamlined lines, concealed controls, easily adjustable as for movement sensitivity and length of time it stays on. It works so well we are going to replace the light in the other bathroom. The hardest part of the install was getting the Phillips head screws out to take off the cover. The screws have the fine screw head requiring a small Phillips screwdriver in perfect condition. They should upgrade the quality of the two screws. Aside from that it is a great buy.

Installation is straight forward if you are handy. Depending on the mounting application, you may need to drill out the center knockout to run the wires. Also I had to drill additional screw holes in the back in order to mount to my box.I am rating this as 2 stars for two reasons:- There is a low hum when it is illuminated.- The unit interferes with 5ghz wifi, badly. For context, the light was installed in the closet of a 700 sq ft apartment at its lowest sensitivity setting. Frequency of the unit is stated as 5.8 ghz, but this is still an issue.Anyway, this unit will be returned. Good looking unit and emits nice light. If you don't care about the hum and 5ghz wifi interference then you may like it.

You must disassemble the fixture to install it. They used cheap screws, and they stripped the screw heads when manufactured, so you can't take them apart to install them. What a waste of time!
