PS Doors EZD-600-42 EzDam Flood Barrier, Protects Opening Up to 42" Wide, Aluminum

After a devastating flood at the end of 2015 that flushed 29" of creek water into my finished walk out basement and pitiful compensation from flood insurance, I decided to take matters into my own hands and purchase 2 of these EzDam Flood barriers for the doors from our garage into our basement. They were expensive, but if they worked, they would save me a fortune.I liked how they were relatively light and very easy to secure once the mounting brackets were placed onto the concrete block walls. I could place them myself in case of a flash flood. Also they are 36" above the floor level--much higher than the last flood.So, just 16 months after the first >100 year flood, we had another. This one was projected to be almost as bad. We had a few hours warning, so I moved our cars to higher ground and put everything on the garage floor onto higher surfaces and placed the EzDams and waited. I also had Quick Dam barriers, bought here at Amazon ready to soak up what might leak through.The water rose up about 10" onto the EzDams, and except for a little trickle that I blame on a crack in the floor, they held beautifully.I feel so secure and relieved that I won't have the tens of thousands of dollars of clean up and repair that I did the first time.Trust me, flood insurance will not cover much, so you should protect yourself.
