Well Made Product, Easy Installation, Solid Guarantee & Boomer-Friendly!
With 3 large and active dogs and warm weather fast approaching, we decided to take the plunge and try a magnetic screen door for our large-sized family room slider. After some research and measuring, we first purchased a 36" wide screen. By applying the Velcro strips very close to the edges of the door frame it was workable, but without any slack in the mesh fabric.Turns out, you really need a bit of slack/extra fabric in order for the magnetic inner strips to readily 'do their thing' and snap back into position on their own. A little more searching and we decided upon this Magnetic Screen Door with measurements of 39" x 83" for the necessary ease in the mesh material. It works like a charm!Very easy to install, beginning with top center area. Making sure the two panels were completely even in length ensured the best result, and my fears for good visibility with black rather than gray color turned out to be groundless; photo included to demonstrate just how much of the view is retained. The fabric is medium weight rather than flimsy and all seams are completely finished...the magnets are fully enclosed and I actually only had a single druther. In future, would love to have 81" length vs 83" so it will clear the threshold nicely, without needing to fold over the header above. 1" long nails we added, helped to make sure our rowdy beasts didn't pull down this magnetic screen door, but I won't say this isn't puppy-proof. Oh no. A really pleasant experience? Contacting the seller about an initial dog vs screen dog mishap proved the 100% no-questions asked guarantee was very real and not bogus. Another photo to demonstrate our situation.A new Menke Magnetic Screen Door arrived, postage free, just a few days later. We are sold and that's why I am taking the time to share our experiences to better help anyone considering buying this. 2 thumbs up, 5 full stars for a well-made product that lives up to its advertising and real people who stand by their claims.

Closes itself behind you every time!
I ordered the first one two years ago. The dog has been charging through it at top speed multiple times a day since then. Also, the screen is hung on the south side of the house, so it gets baked in the sun all day long. Eventually, the side panels and the pockets containing the magnets have become faded and worn. Now, holes have developed in the weathered fabric, which allow the magnets to fall out. So, I've ordered a new one. All things considered, I think the door has held up well. Other 1-star reviews complain about the gaps around the sides, allowing insects in. This isn't a problem for me, because somehow the stinkbugs find their way into the house during the winter anyway... point being is that if a spider creeps its way in through those gaps, so be it. Go eat the stinkbugs!! I've never noticed a larger number of insects inside from using this door. And you could certainly go buy more Velcro at the hardware store and "hermetically seal" the edges if the gaps are a concern. This door is easy to hang, easy to use, and effective at keeping bugs out. In two more years, I'll order a third one when this one wears out. (Don't tell anyone, but I just threw away a competitor's model that reliably stayed OPEN every single time the dog went through it, so I've learned my lesson and I'm sticking with this one.) Lastly, if you don't have pets or kids that go blazing through your doorway, it'll probably last longer if you're opening it gently - less wear-and-tear.

I love it, dog loves it more!
This is actually my second of this brand screen. The other lasted 5 years, would have lasted longer but if the back door is closed my dog runs her nails down it to let me know she wants in and she finally tore holes in it. I love the fact that when weather is nice (which is often in Texas) door is open. which lets her come and go through the screen at will. Also with windows open it allows a nice breeze of air through the house. Very easy with little pressure required to open in the middle where magnets keep it closed, so no problem for dog or kids. Measure carefully so it goes all the way to the ground to prevent bugs from getting in.

Awesome screen door
Awesome screen door. It was very easy to put up. My dog quickly learned how to use it as well so she could go outside and sit on the porch as she pleases. If you are trying to keep a pet inside, this is not the screen door for you!One *very* important thing to note: pay attention to which way your door opens! I installed this on my patio door which pushes open to the outside, so the screen door needed to be installed on the inside of the door (as opposed to a door that pulls open to the inside). When the door is open it looks like a perfectly normal screen door, but when I have to close the door now there is just a weird net hanging in the inside of my home, and over the blinds that are already on the door. It is not very aesthetically pleasing.

You need to try this type of screen door!
Truly a great product!. We've have one on our front and back door for at least two and have bought several for friends. Previously we'd spent quite a bit of time looking for a screen door. But we didn't like the looks of the lightweight aluminum ones and the nice-looking ones are too expensive for us.At the low price, we thought we'd give it a try. We've been so surprised by how perfect this is for us. Keeps out the bugs! Keeps out the chickens! The people, dogs, and cats can get in and out almost as easily as with no screen. The magnetic closure works perfectly. The only problem is if it's windy and we make the mistake of having both the front and back door open at the same time then the magnet has a little trouble closing on its own. But even then, all it takes is a little nudge and it fastens right up.To top it off, believe it or not, it has an elegant look. The dark color of the fabric along with the vertical lines in it are attractive and also allow easy visibility. Since we love our garden and can have our doors open all day long in our climate, it allows us to see the garden through the door. I will never go back to a traditional screen door!
