As a birthday gift for a 9 year old
I bought the Arts and Crafts full tool kit AND the extra foam "boards" kit. They're for a March birthday gift for a 9 year old. He'll need supervision, but he'll be able to construct things outdoors where he can leave a project while it's being created. I haven't opened the boxes. Well-constructed plastic tools and foam boards seem suitable for that age. The description says there are enough pieces to make multiple items in the original set. There are instructions for 10 projects I bought the extra materials because it's always disappointing to run out of materials when you really get into making projects you enjoy.

These are great for young kids learning the art of carpentry.
I like that they are a foam, so the kids won't get hurt or lose interest because the wood is too hard to get nails and screws in. My 5 yr old grandson loves these.

Must have for a toddler
I originally got this as a gift for my daughter, but she was anxious to use her tool set on something so we decided to open it. What a really well designed product. My 4 year old feels like she’s actually building something and I can let her be creative without worrying that she will get hurt. This item should be in stores!

Perfect refill pack
This was exactly what I was looking for as a refill to my 4 yr old son's original building set with all the tools. This is the perfect "pretend" wood for him to learn how to build. You get additional "wood", screws & nails which is exactly what we needed.
