Zhiyun has nailed it –a perfect camera Gimbal for compact/APS-C CamerasDisclaimer: I am not a pro or expert in camera or gimbal usage. This is just my user experience.Why I chose Crane M3?I was looking for a lightweight camera gimbal for Sony ZV1 camera as the Bluetooth grip that I bought was not useful. Sony ZV1 although the video quality is good has poor stabilization even in the active mode. It has been a year since I am searching for a lightweight camera gimbal to pair with my Sony ZV1 and think that Zhiyun has perfectly nailed it.DeliveryI bought the gimbal from Amazon and the delivery was fast. Pretty happy with the delivery from Amazon.Initial difficultyInitially I found it difficult to balance the gimbal with the camera. But once I understood how a camera gimbal works and to balance it, it is now easy to the extent that it is just like plug and play. You mount the camera on the base plate, just must have an idea of orientation how the gimbals work (pan, roll and tilt) axes and the associated latches and locks. Turn the gimbal on, balance using the automatic balancing provided in the menu options (most of the times you might not need it) and you are ready to go.One best thing that Zhiyun has done is the option for balancing the camera through the touch screen menu which is intuitive.Pros1.The gimbal is light weight and easy to carry. Vlogging made easy.2.When you use the accompanying cable whereby you connect the camera to the gimbal the buttons on the gimbal can be used to record video on the camera and adjust orientations.3.The light provided on the tilt axes is an innovative feature, and the extra magnetic light bulbs add to the glory.4.The build quality is solid.5.The video footage that comes out is good (95% of the time), some wobbles here and there but I believe its due to my inexperience in using a Camera Gimbal. I have only used a mobile gimbal osmo3 before. I will perfect it as I go along and use this gimbal to get quality videos.6.The touch screen menu makes the gimbal easy to use.7.The joystick is a welcome feature enabling the camera to be oriented or rotated to the direction where you wish.Con'sI did not feel any con's but if Zhiyun can improve on these aspects it would be useful.1.The cable provided is bulky and since the ZV1 has ports on the right side, it creates some blockage, if you place the camera near the tilt axes motor. It can be solved by adjusting the camera position on the base plate bit away from the tilt axes handle, but then there is a space between the camera (where it sits and the tilt motor). Not a big thing but if the cable head could be of small size it could have been better.2.White Colour theme is okay, but I would have liked a combination of black color as well (not pure black a mix of white with black or any other colour).Revisions that can be helpfulOne immediate one is the placement of on/off switch it gets accidentally turned on sometimes if I put in the bag along with some items. It gets pressed and charge drains.Then sometimes (I experienced 2 times until now) the touch screen becomes unresponsive. Then I must turn off and again turn on.I think it can be corrected with a software update.Then one that would be a no brainer would be to have an option to lock the touch screen - When we use the gimbal, the fingers sometimes accidentally touch the menu, and the options get activated and settings can change. An external small lock would have been much better or do not know if there is an option to lock already using the touch screen.Super Pro-Super Helpful ZhiyunI believe if you respond and address customer concern promptly, such companies generally outplace the competition. That might be one of the reasons Zhiyun is one of the leaders in Gimbal market.I think the support that you get from Zhiyun is second to none. If you send them a message, they will respond to you and in my case Ms. Jessie from customer service was prompt and helpful. I had sent Zhiyun a message through Amazon since Initially I had difficulties in balancing the gimbal with the camera and the response was quick. Also, I am happy they would be shipping a base plate specifically designed for Sony ZV1.Final ThoughtsI think if you are looking a camera gimbal for your compact camera (not the big ones or DSLR’s) Point and Shoot /APS-C’s without much longer lenses, this is one of the best choices in the market out there. Likewise, I said before, Zhiyun has nailed it!

I have gone through 6+ gimbals in search of the best solution for livestreaming from a cell phone. Many of the dedicated phone gimbals, such as those from DJI, do work with minimal setup and balancing. However, they do not have any easy way to charge the phone (the ones that do tend to have very slow charging rates and the phone still discharges, just slower), and have trouble with accessories.Ideally, I would like the ability to stream for as long as possible without fidgeting and plugging in wires halfway through. With dedicated phone gimbals, a USB cable coming from the phone to a charging brick in your pocket, for example, would be enough to destabilize the unit and introduce a bit of a judder. When you start to add additional accessories such as rode wireless microphones and adapters (to allow mic and charging at the same time), many phone-only gimbals are significantly overwhelmed.My first "end-stage" gimbal was the Zhiyun Crane M2. It checked all my boxes to handle large phones + all the accessories I need for livestreaming. I was very excited to hear the M3 was being released and purchased it as soon as I was able. It did not disappoint! I probably did not need to upgrade, but this seems to handle my livestreaming components much better. I'll just break it down into some pros/caveats for my use case, as it is very specific and does not cover all of the possibilities of this gimba.Pros:- High payload. I am not going to use this for anything other than cellphones, but it is nice to have that versatility. Handles large iPhones, + adapters, + extra cables without issue- Charges quickly- Built in fill light!- Large, sturdy levers for balancing.- Zhiyun reached out to me on WhatsApp and was very helpful in providing additional accessories and support.Caveats:- Cannot fold down to compact size without compromising last balance.- May be heavy for some during prolonged use- It SOMETIMES deviates from the horizon - usually auto-calibration fixes that, however I think this may have to do with the extra cables I have that it has to account for.- Mini tripod not included in the more expensive bundles (you get a bigger tripod, but being a large gimbal already it's nice to have something smaller

I initially had problem with battery performance with the Type C to Multi-C cable which, was constantly charging the camera and was also too short. But thanks to their excellent support team, I found a work-around. The transmount Bluetooth controller that is being launched and the camera controller attachment that already comes with the Pro model makes this a perfect gimbal for my Sony A6600. You can also use the other Bluetooth remotes like those from JJC, Sony etc. if you do not want to use Pro model. I have owned a DJI Ronin before and I can say that I had a far superior experience with Zhiyun in terms of both the product and especially their customer service. I highly recommend it.

!!! Update vom 20.06.22:Wieso jetzt doch nur noch 1 Punkt. Leider merkt man immer mehr das das Produkt null ausgereift ist. Es passt zwar mit einigen Kameras aber mit meiner ZV-E10 funktionierts immer noch nicht und ich habe auch irgendwie das Gefühl das auch kein Interesse von Seiten Zhiyun besteht dies zu ändern.Am Anfang hatte ich ja noch die Hoffnung das die Steuerbarkeit über Kabel noch kommt, da nun aber sogar die CraneM2S seit Monaten dies kann, aber für die Crane M3 es noch immer kein Update gibt, glaube ich nicht mehr an Besserung.Mit den Adaptern und Bluetooth Einheiten die es da anscheinend gibt konnte ich noch nichts testen, da ich die nirgends herbekomme, nicht mal Amazon hat die hier, oder ich finde die nur nicht. Über den Support und auch eine nette Dame wurden mir zwar in unzähligen Mails immer wieder Hilfen und die Adapter versprochen, aber ausser warmer Luft gabs nichts.War natürlich auch meine eigene Schuld, den ich hatte ja die erste Bewertung auf 4 Punkte erhöht da ich den Gimbal auch mit wirklich kompatiblen Kameras getestet hatte, hatte nichts mit irgendwelchen Versprechen zu tun, hatte ja noch nichts bekommen.Warum nun sogar nur 1 Punkt, ich mache nun seit einem halben Jahr mit dem Teil rum und habe nur eine drittklassige Lösung. Werde nun doch einen erwachsenen Gimbal holen und für das Smartphone einen speziellen für Smartphone.Ursprüngliche Rezension vom 29.12.21Nun aber zu dem Produkt selber:Da ich eine Sony ZV-E10 Kamera habe, habe ich mir auch die vielen Youtube Videos angeschaut und dachte super wenn die Alle sagen bester Gimbal für ZV-E10.Dann noch in der Kompatiblitäts Liste geschaut, auch toll passt auch, was ich zu dem Zeitpunkt noch nicht wußte, das die Liste die hier gezeigt wird nichts mit der Realität zu tun hat.Auf der deutschen Seite von Zhiyun-tech.com findet man die Liste gar nicht, aber auf der Englischen Seite Zhiyun-tech.com/en , wichtig das en muß angegeben werden sonst wird man wieder zu der Deutschen geleitet, gibt es unter Download noch zusätzlich zu der hier angegebenen Kompatibilitäts Liste eine zusätzliche Control List in der man dann sehen kann das man z.B. mit der ZV-E10 Pech hat.Man kann die Kamera also nur über den Gimbal laden, ob sinnvoll oder nicht, da ja der Akku festeingebaut ist und nicht wie erhofft steuern. (Habe ich zwischenzeitlich mit dem zu der ZV-E10 passenden Bluetooth Griff/Ständer gelöst. Statt dem Ständer der Crane M3 habe ich nun den drangeschraubt, geht genauso.)Ok dachte ich nicht weiter schlimm den die Kabel sind sowieso ziemlich kurz und ich habe ja Bluetooth.Und schon der nächste Irrtum, den der Gimbal hat zwar Bluetooth, aber damit kann man sich nur mit der ZY Play App verbinden mehr nicht.Die ist aber eigentlich auch Sinnfrei, da ja die Steuerung, Aufnahme, Werte einstellen ... nicht funktionieren, also nur für Firmwareupdate tauglich, was aber ja auch per PC geht.Wann und ob überhaupt die Bluetoothfunktion für die jeweilige Kamera kommt und ob man da zwingend die TransMount Crane M3 Erweiterungseinheit benötigt, bekommt man über den Support auch nicht raus, sondern man wird nur auf die englische Seite per Link verwiesen.Das deutsche Handbuch, nur online zu finden, ist auch für die Zukunft geschrieben, den da steht z.B.Infos:1. Sprache: Ändern Sie die Menüsprache des Touchscreens(vereinfachtes Chinesisch/Englisch/Deutsch).gibt noch kein Deutsch, darum für die Betriebsarten am Besten zusätzlich das Englische mit runterladen, den z.B. den Schwenkfolgemodus (Pan Follow mode) zu finden ist sonst nicht so easy.Die Schnellwechselplatte die beiliegt, ist übrigends eine komplett Andere als die die man auf den Seiten, Beschreibungen.... sieht, taugt auch, verdeckt aber bei meiner ZV-E10 den Akkudeckel, müßte also entfernt werden, da ich aber mit Powerbank lade spar ich mir den Wechsel und die damit verbundenen Neueinstellungen.Eine Kamera Passende kann man anscheinend per Mail bestellen, bis jetzt auf meine Mail aber noch keine Antwort erhalten, kann also zum Preis noch nichts sagen.Der Rucksack ist nice und gut verarbeitet, ob Praxistauglich, da der Gimbal ziemlich stramm an der Seite anliegt, kann ich noch nicht sagen, passt aber einiges rein.Die Smartphonhalterung ist sehr stabil und gut verarbeitet, Smartphone darf nur nicht zu breit sein und eine Hülle muß entfernt werden.Wenn die Probleme bzw. Inkompatibilitäten besser Beschrieben wären und nicht nur versteckt irgendwo, ist der Gimbal nicht schlecht und auch benutzbar wenn man mit den Einschränkungen leben kann.Es wäre tatsächlich vom Hersteller sinnvoller gewesen, noch etwas zu warten und das Produkt fertig zu entwickeln und nicht mit noch nicht vorhandenen Features zu werben.Update 04.03.22:Habe die Sterne nun auf 4, können noch 5 werden, da ich den Gimbal auch mit anderen Kameras/Smartphone getestet habe und wie gesagt eigentlich super finde.

Tengo dos camaras mirrorless, una de canon m-50 y otra de sony a7c...Ambas no funcionan los cables para conectar con crane m3...Ninguna manera puede conectar...Pero me han dicho que lanzarán un nuevo módulo para conectar vía bluetooth.Así estoy esperandolo.Lo demás funciona muy bien.

This is my first gimbal but I was very impressed. It held my zve10 very steady with a big heavy lens. Only downside was that I had to order the Bluetooth add on to get full functionality. Otherwise great.

Je viens de recevoir le M3. Impatient après avoir vu tout ce que je pouvais voir sur internet . J’ai revendu mon M2 pour l’acheter car je souhaitais mettre des optiques un peu plus lourdes avec mon boîtier Alpha 7C. De ce côté là, pas de problème . Il prend en charge sans problème par exemple mon 20mm 1.8 GEn revanche …. Quelle déception que de constater qu’il est impossible d’utiliser les fonctions basiques du boîtier avec les boutons conçus sur le stabilisateur…Impossible donc de déclenchement un Rec ou d’assigner la molette du devant à la mise au point ou au changement d’Iso par exemple Effectivement, en allant fouiller sur le site du constructeur , l’alpha 7C n’est pas compatible avec la liaison filaire …. Le M2 gérait le déclenchement du rec en Bluetooth sans problème !!!!!! Et sans le module d’extension qui n’est pas vendu dans le combo, et bien il semblerait qu’il n’y ait aucune communication en Bluetooth…. Vu le prix de ce stabilisateur, ce n’est pas normal . Sans compter que le M2 le faisait et qu’il est plus de deux fois moins cher !!! Pourquoi ??!!Et pourquoi mettre à dispo des boutons qui ne sont pas compatibles ( en filaire ) avec des boîtiers tellement dédiés comme l’alpha 7C pour ce stabilisateur ??? …. J’ai essayé d’en savoir un peu plus en écrivant au constructeur . Aucun retour de sa part .Mise à jour futur du firmware ?Possibilité de devoir mettre encore au porte monnaie et acheter le module d’extension ( si c’est possible )même si je n’ai aucune utilité à utiliser l’entrée du micro …. Ce fameux module est il aussi un récepteur Bluetooth qui me permettrait d’établir une connexion avec mon alpha 7C…?Bref …. Même si le stabilisateur fait son travail correctement, pour ce prix si élevé , je suis pour l’instant très déçu .Après plusieurs tentatives de mise en relation avec le fabricant , aucun suivit ,aucune réponse, aucune solution , aucune informations et connaissances suffisantes pour faire confiance . Je retourne donc ce produit et je me tournerai donc comme à mon habitude jusqu’à présent vers les produits DJI qui soont bien mieux développés à tout les niveaux . Le service client est si important … et le négliger ainsi est une erreur importante
