Moo Dog (Scholastic Reader, Level 1)

I ordered this book because my child’s favorite book is Santa Duck by David Milgrim. When I first read it, I thought it was overly simple. However my 5 year old though it was funny and with the repetition it was easy for them to work on their reading skills/sight words. This is our third book we own by this author and we are fans of his writing!

Good read for 1st grade, kindergarten.

Purchased for the 5 year old, but the 3 year old is begging to take this new 'favorite book' Simple reading for emerging readers with a fun story line. This is a great way to allow young readers to master sight vocabulary while practicing reading fluency. The complementary title was also well liked.

Kids will laugh out loud at this book! They will probably spend the rest of the day moooing. You have been warned!

My little readers love this book, they think it’s hilarious. Great book for beginners.

I liked that it was short. It kept my 6 year olds attention and she thought it was hilarious that the dog “moo’d”.

Such a joke. Dogs don't moo. I was so disappointed.Hank the four year old reading machine loved it. He yelled, MOO every time he read it. And proceeded to laugh hysterically. Then he would look at me grinning and say, poo dog and laughed harder.

My grandkids loved the story. It left room for a lot of discussion.

Fun to read, lots of repetition so good for early readers.
