9.5" Stainless Steel Straw Set

They are not quite as thick around as a pencil and very sturdily made. Most important, the end that you put in your mouth is NOT smooth. It is pretty sharp considering the fact it is going in your mouth. If you have little kids you had better monitor them using these. If they are fooling around they could definitely cut their gums or even use them as a weapon if they are into horsing around (like my kids). A couple of observations...they fall through the grid on my dishwasher's silverware holder so I rubber band them together to run them through the dishwasher once I know they are clean outside. And, the brush they give you isn't long enough to fit straight through to the other end, so you have to enter one side, then turn the straw over and do the other side. I am totally sensitive to the metallic taste from stainless steel and I haven't noticed any taste yet (but I haven't used them with water - only flavored beverages). I like then a lot and would get more but do caution you about the sharp edge.

I like the fact that these come with a cleaning brush. I bought these after buying my son a silicon covered glass thermos for school. He's used to having the ones with the straw and the one I bought didn't have one. I do not like plastic reusable straws as there have been a few times we've forgotten his chocolate milk over the weekend only to find the straw caked with old curdled milk and it is difficult to get the smell out as the plastic absorbs it. I also love these for when I make him hot chocolate, which I would never use a plastic straw for. You can use these for hot beverages and not have to worry about chemicals leaching into your drink.

The product is very good. Maybe a little taste of metal but not very much as all. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall, it is a great purchase. I use it a lot for my hot tea. I have braces and doctor wants me to use straw all the time. I also like to drink hot tea. Those plastic straw will not work well. Thus, I got this product. Perfect! Love it!

Great product. I didn't find any manufacturing flaws that a few others have mentioned. Works as advertised, very little else to say.Stainless steel straws are kind of a lifesaver for me, since I am physically disabled and unable to hold a cup. These are great, because I can travel with them, and don't have to worry about crushing or holes as with standard plastic drinking straws.I will probably be trying out a few other varieties in the future.

These are really thin. The metal feels almost like tin or aluminum. They are also too narrow to drink smoothies from and almost too narrow for juices. My straw cleaner is too large for these as well and I have to use theirs which is questionable on cleaning.I do like the angle because it makes it less like a weapon aimed at your face.

Most people are surprised to see me drinking from a steel straw. It is very nice to be able to stir my drink without my plastic straw flopping all over the place. Definitely buy straw cleaners, they are cheap and nothing else will really clean the inside of a straw. Oh and if you have little ones around the house, watch them closely. They could easily hurt themselves if the straw hit the roof of their mouth or something.

Since I use straws all the time I thought I should make this environmental shift. They are uncomfortable to use so I don't use them. Of course you would never want one in your mouth while walking about that is for sure. Duh... it's metal. They also do not fit in most of my cups that I put straws in. They are just a tad too large. I thought about looking for the right cups but then decided I didn't like using these straws so instead I stuck them in a drawer. Maybe one day I will come up with a genius thing to do with a stainless steel straw.

My son originally purchased a set of these for me because he loved his so much. I totally agree! They wash easily and are great for the environment! They also stay put on the beach...where I had problems with the plastic ones blowing out to sea and a danger for the animals.I love these so much, I now have a collection of all sizes...I especially like the larger one for fruit smoothies.
