Not for the Novice Makeup Artist..
1. I'm reviewing this product because I'm tired of getting the spam emails from this company to come "review their wonderful product." I was tempted to write a horrid review because I find that sort of thing VERY annoying and I wish companies (who already have tons of reviews on their products) would back off and give customers time to properly test a product. I feel that since I've had this makeup tool for a good little bit and I've used it enough to give educated feedback.2. I purchased this blender because of it's shape. It's similar to the beauty blender - it's just flat and I assumed it would be easier for me to get the hang of. I admit this tool does take some practice. It's not like a beauty blender where you can just dab it on your face and go. I did look online a bit before using it to see if anyone had any advice on how to make these "work" efficiently.- Using a GOOD primer is key! It helps apply the foundation better rather than just placing the foundation on your bare skin.- Use swiping / dabbing motions. You should never rub a foundation into your face. That's why for some the fine lines and pores in your face stand out. You're basically rubbing your makeup into those lines and your pores making them more defined - and I don't know of many who are going for that look! Much like a beauty blender a swiping motion to apply the foundation over your face and then a dabbing / patting motion to blend it out. I did discover that using this the first couple of times it took me a bit to get the hang of the new motion.- This thing is a breeze to clean! I'm so happy that all I have to do is run it under warm water and then dry it off or just wipe it with a makeup wipe and it's clean! It has no smell (unless you use a scented cleaner) which I'm happy about. I've heard horror stories of some of these sponges smelling like rubber or burnt plastic.Overall I wouldn't recommend this tool to someone who's new to the beauty world as it does take a bit of skill and practice to use it. I would recommend testing it out on a day when you're experimenting with looks or have time to just take your time applying your makeup. I still find myself going back to my beauty blender, but I don't see myself throwing this away I do plan to practice with it a bit more before I consider myself a "pro" or just giving up.

Super product!
I don't usually write reviews, but I've really been impressed with this product. There are a lot of choices out there & reviews that aren't so great so I felt compelled to share my experience.1. The "sponge" is soft and yes it does have a "seam" or "ridge" around it, but it's soft, doesn't scratch. Honestly, I don't even notice it.2. The tapered end is a must. It's great for around the nose, under the eyes, etc.3. It saves LOTS of makeup. I wear Clinique foundation & before I was using a nickel size amount - now I use a third that much. A little goes a long way!4. It will streak if you're not careful, but using a primer, and only tiny amounts of foundation to start will help until you get a feel for how much makeup you will actually need. Too much makeup = streaks and poor blending. Start small - it's tough to work backwards if you go overboard and use too much product.5. You don't have to use a "dabbing" motion to blend. I prefer short, light strokes across my face, although I do tend to dab more under my eyes. Both methods work equally well.6. Works great for concealers and other liquid/stick foundations and creams. I prefer my brushes for blending powder products - but that's just me.7. Cleans up like a dream. No more gross sponges and rubbing old, germy crud around your face.8. I've seen a couple reviews that talk about the silicone having a horrible smell. Truth - it smells like plastic - but it's not repulsive. I've used it and washed it several times and it barely smells at all.Overall, a great buy. Saves makeup and doesn't require any serious "skill" to use it. I highly recommend.

is easy to clean
I'll give it 3 stars because it does save a lot of make-up product, is easy to clean, is cheap, and looks cool. However, I tried to use it alone and it is very splotchy when applying and doesn't blend nearly as well as the beauty blender which I'm really disappointed with because this is so much cheaper. I was really hoping I could toss my beauty blender in the trash but I guess I'll keep it around to touch up and blend what the silisponge did not. It's an ok product, maybe it just takes some getting used to but it seems to smear the makeup all over the face instead of actually letting it blend and distribute evenly. If you're wanting to try it I say go for it because like I said it's much cheaper than any beauty blender, and I tried it because of all of the recent hype but I just wasn't super impressed or wow'd by it.

Acceptable Applicator - not a blender
Great for medium to light coverage. It's not a Beauty Blender so don't go into it expecting it to be. I bought it to keep the makeup off my fingers every morning and it works well for that. It is not very good around the eyes or brows, I have to go back with my fingers to blend in. It has a bit of s learning curve, but it's to be expected for such a different applicator/blender (but I wouldn't call it a blender as it doesn't blend well). The little ridge of plastic or whatever is a design flaw in my opinion. It should be cut off during production, as it serves no purpose other than to irritate you with little lines of makeup to scrub off after application. I bought both this design and the "original" silibuki, and use them interchangeably but find this one more preferable around the eyes, nose, and brows.
