I used to buy Nutrex 5lb Hawaiian, but was able to find it and tried this one.Very good spirulina, taking it every day with water,psyllium husk powder and unfiltered apple cider vinegar mixed together to supplement an extended fat fasting routine.So far so good, I've gone through about a pound of the 2lb and loving it.It also doesn't smell or taste fishy like Nutrex.I'll be buying more.... UPDATE --I have a severe allergy to heavy metals, that breaks my face out in horrible rashes and bumps.. I had to quit vaping because of it, as the coils cause inhalation of heavy metals, and I'd break out in rashes all over my face every time.Each time I use this, after it changed sources and packaging, my face breaks out the same way.. and it's absolutely not what it used to be. It never did that before, and it used to taste WAY better.The color is different. .the taste is different.. and I can literally feel heavy metal toxicity in my face.I'm never buying this again.. Shame on the company for pulling a bait & switch.

One of the best I've gotten

I would of gave it 5 stars but the product is expensive, well, at least for me it is because I am taking 3 teaspoons a day to take my low white blood cell counts out of leukemia territory and raise it up a couple thousand microliters. I researched the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. I learned that Soviet physicians gave 5 grams of Spirulina to radiation-exposed children for 45 consecutive days. After 20 days, white blood cell counts of about 1,000 rose to 3,000! This is my goal. It is a good solid powder. I have ordered more than once and the powder always comes in a deep, dark green color and a great fresh taste. It tastes like green algae, not going to lie. But while consuming, you can feel the wholesome goodness of it. Very fresh! And I add squeezed lemon juice to it and it makes a great quick smoothie. The green powder gets everywhere it your not careful, but it cleanes up nicely.

I've used the 2-lb containers thrice in smoothies with bananas and plant-based milks. Sometimes I would add something else, like blueberries or maca, but mostly the three ingredients. I'm personally very satisfied with the product, as I was hospitalized eight days due to anemia in 2012, had to have iron intravenously taken, and then orally 200 mg. However, results were poor. Only after I started taking spirulina did my anemia improve. Out of all the spirulinas, this one is the best taking into consideration both quality and price. In fact, I've been actively promoting it to my friends, so much so, I should probably become an affiliate. :)
