You just can’t beat this power feed at this price point!
The media could not be loaded. Considering the extremely good price point you just can’t beat this power feed!It has a great price; it is very good quality for the price, and the customer support was great not to mention it’s backed by a warranty!I purchased 3 of these (X- Axis units) to install on my X,Y & Z Axis of my Lagun milling machine knowing fully well up front that I would have to customize my mill as well as modify the bronge spiral gears to fit my 16mm shafts with 5mm woodruff keys. For my application they definitely were not an off of the shelf fit but I was ok with this knowing how much money I would be saving and because I have the ability to design and manufacture the additional parts I be would need! This power feed is middle of the road when it comes to torque as there are other units out there for almost the same price but they only have 150 in-lb. of torque and there are others that have approximately 780 in-lb. of torque but cost $400 - $600 apiece. When it comes to torque these units are very powerful and had no problem raising and lowering my Z-Axis (The Knee) which is almost twice as heavy as a Bridgeport Knee. These power feeds have precise and smooth speed control and they can go very slow which is great for example: when milling small dia. slots on a long part. The faster you go the more torque you get but when cutting small dia. slots on a long part you really don’t need tons of torque! When it comes to higher feed rates they do have plenty of torque! There was an issue with one of the 3 units I purchased and I know these things happen when it comes to manufacturing and quality control but GPOAS customer support was outstanding and they tried their best to help me trouble shoot the problem but once it was determined the unit was defective they stood behind their product and ship me a replacement immediately.Anyone familiar with this style of power feed knows that there are 2 very common wear parts which are the carbon brushes and the nylon/zytel gear housed in the lower part of the unit that is designed to strip and protect the unit if you crash it hard out like rapid travers past the end of travel without having the stop switches set properly. When I Inquired about these spare parts I was very disappointed to find out that GPOAS does not sell spare parts for these units however their technical support was able to supply me with photos that had dimensions and told me I could find the parts on ebay. With this information I had no problem finding the replacement parts on ebay and I stocked up on them as they were inexpensive. I will Include this information with the pic’s I upload for this review. If you are mechanically inclined then you shouldn’t have any issue installing this power feed on your vertical milling machine even if a slight modification is required it is well worth it.As you can see I went above and beyond installing these units and they work great and it was well worth the effort!!!

Worked great.
Installation was relatively easy, but took the time needed to make sure the gear messed appropriately. I like the on/off light being the full speed button, which makes it easier to notice, so the unit will not be left on accidentally.

Works great
For the cost of this, you can’t go wrong. Mounted to my Bridgeport with no issues.

DON'T BUY THIS!
This drive MIGHT work, but it certainly DOESN'T FIT... I have a STANDARD ORDINARY BRIDGEPORT J-head mill, and this does NOT fit.1) The drive unit wouldn't slide onto the adapter: needle bearing was maligned in the drive unit bore, Took me 2 hours to carefully press the needle bearing out, clean up the mess inside, and reassemble it in proper position.2) The KEYWAY in the drive gear is JUST SMALL ENOUGH so that the key will bind and jam as you're putting the gear ON. Took me over an hour to assemble gear pullers to withdraw it from the shaft.3) The dial locking ring DOESN'T FIT. The thread pitch on the gear is NOT a standard BRIDGEPORT thread pitch.I am NOT interested in making all the corrections necessary to make this drive fit where it SHOULD have.I lost more productive time fighting this mess, than the unit was worth, so it went directly into the dumpster.

Good Power Feed at a great Price- Clean and Not Difficult Install on a Small Knee Mill, Works
Installed this on a Grizzly knee mill- G9959. Mostly Bridgeport like but half the weight and size. Everything fit pretty well with the usual tinkering and playing with shims to get things positioned. Vendor was very generous with 5/8 shims but not so much with the larger dial shims, struggled by. Final solution is clean and works well. Has plenty of power, doesn't strain even at low speeds. Would recommend especially for the price- the same basic thing from Grizzly is over $500.

It works, I think.
As everyone else says, construction seems good but instructions are poor. After making several mods to my ball-screw Bridgeport I finally got motor unit mounted and it ran!. But it seems to me it turns backwards. Press lever to the left and table moves to the right. Press lever right, table moves left. But if I think of the spindle moving and the work fixed, then all is OK, but in an emergency can I keep that straight- only time will tell.Otherwise power drive seems to work as expected and it is time to make some chips to find out!

Impressive performer.
The price was great. The unit installed on my Bridgeport mill quickly and easily. The unit runs quietly and smoothly. Very impressed with performance. Excellent value.

Works, but did not fit my Brideport
Bought this to replace an old X axis that burned up. I have one of these on my Z axis and it has been solid, but also did not fit out of the box.On this one, the brass gear is bored for 5/8 so that fits, but the keyway is metric. Probably 3mm. Bridgeport is 1/8. Also, the hard bushing for the needle bearing off the motor has an ID of .784, not .625 so that didn't fit either. So I broached the brass keyway to 1/8 and turned another bushing to fit the 5/8 shaft and all is good. Kinda annoying but for $170 its still worth it. Just plan on smacking it around a bit to get the fit right.
