Umberto’s grandfather had a jewelry store in which he designed handcrafted beautiful pieces of jewelry. He was more than a jewelry maker; he was an artist. His shop was located in the center of Milan in the district where high value collectibles were made and traded at the time. This district still exists today and there is even a Via Ore¬ci running down the middle. Umberto now takes his son Nicholas to the collectables district whenever they are in Milan as they move into the future together with the brand, OREFICI Watches.In 1933 all the jewelry was handcrafted with meticulous care and supreme attention to the smallest detail. The EJ Viso Edizione Limitata Gladiatore was designed for the Indy Car driver EJ Viso, who is today worldwide known for his great accomplishments in the Indy Car races, 3 British car formula (B) championships, participation in the GP2 races and many other victories in his young but successful career. The EJ Viso Edizione Limitata Gladiatore by Orefici represents the dominant governing body for open-wheel racing in the United States. The case for this watch has been engineered with precision and details to achieve an overall one of a kind case. The design for the watch has truly been inspired on Indy Cars and their amazing details. The honeycomb pattern resembles how the Indy Car chassis are built, the number "5” is EJ Viso’s signature number used when he is on the track racing. We have also placed EJ Viso’s signature in the three’ o clock counter and also incorporated a lollipop style date trim resembling what they would use in the pits.
