Very good reference work

Interesting reading, including historical context, nice examples of watches and its prices, but not nearly as complete as a true "price guide" should be.

Great Book for a beginning collector or an experienced collector. Packed with information. Would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about watches or looking to purchase a luxury watch.

A nice book for high end watches, nothing for the average collector. If you like high end vintage chronos, its for you, otherwise skip it.

Nice book with nice full color pictures, but no where does it state that these are all European watches - at least I think they are all European. What's missing? Elgin, Illinois, Gruen, Waltham, Hamilton, Bulova, etc... none of them are here, but they are collectible too, and they are vintage, and those are what I was looking for. Very disappointed.It says: "A price guide to vintage mechanical watches from more than 40 historically significant brands." Okay, then LIST them in the description. There's only 40 of them!Yea, I know - I should have looked at the ToC! Must've missed it. My rating stands though for the above listed reasons.

Nice book

A reference work for all horologists, or just those like me who love browsing through hundreds of different kinds of superb watches, for the fun of it. If you've time on your hands (or wrist) there's no time like the present to make yourself a present of time, in the form of this superb book on watches.
