The taste was incredible
Ghee is something I keep in my house on a regular. This is the first time I chose this brand but man oh man that I like it. Of course it’s a solid, so I use the spoon to get what I need it. Once I put in my hot pan and melted, right away, did not burn so that was a benefit. Of course the flavor was like clarified butter with no salt, but it enhance the flavors of my food tremendously. I did, however keep it inside of a plastic bag because it seem like the container it came down was very porous and tend to leak out a bit if it got too warm around the ghee. This is definitely something I will be getting again.

Extra high kick of buttery goodness
I’ve never tried cooking with Ghee at home before even though, many times, I’ve had dishes in Indian restaurants that were made with Ghee; so I’m a fan of the flavor that Ghee can add to a recipe.I was eager to try the MILKIO 100% Organic Grass Fed Ghee Butter and, after trying the Milkio version of Ghee I was pleased with the taste. For me, I think of the richness of flavor of this Ghee as kind-of like butter on top of butter on top of butter.I consider the taste of this Ghee to be in a completely different atmosphere than the less-expensive, mass-produced margarine that I normally use for cooking and spreading. At first taste, I thought that something was off in the taste (based on the product being so different from margarine) but I quickly realized that the taste of the Milkio Ghee is what a high-quality butter/ghee tastes should taste like.I first tried using the Ghee to make popcorn because I do like buttery popcorn, and the aroma that wafted up from the pot was just incredible. A deep, earthy, rich aroma that I truly enjoyed. Unfortunately, even though the Ghee easily handled the temperature needed to pop the popcorn, the flavor didn’t carry over to the popcorn so the next attempt will be to melt the Ghee first and then drizzle the butter over the popcorn after the popcorn is done.I also tried spreading the Ghee on toast and this is where the Ghee experience, the buttery flavor and mouth-feel really becomes so noticeable. A first-rate experience.Based on the product’s label, I can see that the Milkio Ghee Butter is a not just a little higher but a LOT higher in fat than cheap margarine, so the Ghee Butter is far richer and even oilier; to the point where I could sense an oily-like sheen on my lips after eating the oil. This makes the Milkio product something I won’t use in place of the lower-fatted version of margarine on a daily basis, but I will certainly use the Ghee in recipes that just call-out for an extra high kick of buttery goodness.

Expensive, arrived damaged, old product
Three problems:1) it's expensive for such a small jar - I expect better2) two jars arrived opened/ leaking3) I ordered Jan 2023 and got jars from Feb 2022. I expect NEW inventory not old inventory for that price.

Not a fan
Outside was greasy. I didn't care for the flavor. Probably won't use it, definitely won't order again. Nice that it's lactose and gluten free though!

Good quality
Just like I get from the local stores. Not expired. Came in a bag and there was leaking from something, but I don't know from what since my jar was sealed.

Nice Ghee, Arrived Leaking All Over Bag
We use ghee quite a bit to do Indian cooking but also generally speaking, especially if we can not get butter at the store and need to pinch hit.HOW THIS COMESThis comes in a plastic bag which is sealed (thank God) and the jar is inside. Ours came with ghee leaking everywhere.FLAVORThis is a nice tasting ghee and is easy to cook with.HOW TO USEThis does not generally have to be refrigerated but we will keep it there in hot weather. We just use as we do oil and butter. A little goes a long way. It is easy to over use this.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a nice quality ghee. I only wish it had a better way to seal it in the jar for shipping so it does not leak all over. It is a greasy mess to clean up.MY RATINGFOUR STARS. I took a star off for not having it seal better for shipping, although the plastic bag was a lifesaver so nothing else was ruined in the shipment.

from happy New Zealand cows
First off, this arrived safe and sealed. I’ve been a fan of ghee since the late 60’s when Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet, introduced me to clarified butter. It’s great for cooking for both the flavor and the high smoke point. Clarified butter and ghee are in reality the same thing. Clarified butter is French and Ghee is Indian, otherwise there’s not much difference. This brand comes from New Zealand.I’d suggest that you put your Ghee in the fridge prior to opening as it is oily at room temperature. After it’s opened I let mine come back to room temp and transfer to a squeeze bottle that I keep near the stove as it can be stored at room temp for long periods of time. This is cow’s milk ghee and tasty. If you've never used ghee in cooking you may want to get the total impact of the product by making popcorn. You will see that the high smoke point and intense butter flavor is obvious. You will then be an official "Ghee Foodie" and use it for frying, basting and general cooking. Use it on any meat product but it will really shine when used to sauté fish. Wonderful! If you don’t use a lot of it, like I do, it’s fine to store in the fridge where it will harden but then you can just use a spoon to remove what you need from the jar. I’m very happy with this product.

Great for seasoning and high temperature cooking
The high smoke point prevents the ghee from gumming up pans or leaving a burnt flavor during searing. Since I will often use my cast iron pans at high temperatures and they constantly build up their seasoning, I only use ghee in them. I have used this ghee for making cornbread and chocolate banana bread (pictured) in my cast iron skillet without any issues. This ghee had a slushy consistency at room temperature and thickened in the fridge. It performs and tastes like most ghee.
