Very good quality, nice smooth finish
solid, good quality finish, recommended. One dimension that may be of interest to others: the center-line of the support post (i.e. to the center-line of the railing) is 2-11/16” away from the wall.

Broke the one on the stairwell (actually made cheaper than this as the metal was thinner. My finger sliding down the rail hit it and broke the original off. Of course I had a bloody finger for a while, but the railing as you walked up the stairs would fail midway up on where I broke the unit.). I thought I'd never find it, but was shocked by just putting in a quick search and finding it. I got it and replaced it immediately. Heck it's thicker and stronger than the original, and yet, fit exactly in the same holes in the wood designer blocks on the wall, and underneath the railing where the catch goes. Very impressed. I might have to change the rest to these as it has really made the whole railing stable.

Just as described and as seen in photos.

They look great, and are very sturdy
The brackets I got were of high quality, heavy solid brass. As others have noted, they appear to be a product also manufactured for Stanley. They look great, and are very sturdy. My old ones were made of some crummy alloy and broke apart after years of use. These were definitely solid brass. I'm going to install them on two other handrails in my home. Very nice!

exactly what I was looking for
Was looking for a bracket similar to the others on this handrail & this one is a little thicker and much sturdier. Might change the others to this brand also
