Zoomer's Summer Snowstorm

I read this with my 3rd graders, who absolutely loved it! *My 4 year old loves it too!* Such a fun, adorable story!

I bought this book for a kindergarten class and was going to bring our snow cone machine to hand out snow cones for the kids but due to the COVID 19 virus, we have not been able to do this. But hoping to later in the school year. It is really a cute book.

This is one of my recent favorite books (and I'm a children's librarian so I read a LOT of books). I couldn't help but smile as I read it. Zoomer is a bored puppy who is too smart for his own good and wants to have some fun on a hot day. He convinces his Mother to let him use the ice shaving machine on his own and from there things get a little out of hand. Zoomer's ice and snow sculptures are magnificent and would be any child's dream come true. I highly recommend this book and think it would be the perfect birthday gift for a child around 5 to 10 years old (you may also include a kid friendly slushy maker or a gift certificate to a local ice cream parlor). Better yet, read the story to/with the young person as you enjoy ice cream or a slushy together. Fun, fun, fun!

Yea for Zoomer! I loved the first book and the second is a lot of fun too! Read it to my girls (7 and 8) and son (5). My 8 year old daughter said it was better than the first. My other daughter and son really liked it and cheered it on. You get the same great illustrations as you did in the first. The only thing is I wished the ending had a little more to it. However, I would buy copies for friends. I hope there are lots more Zoomer books to come!

What an imagination! The art and story delights my grandchild and his imagination. He has a bit of youngest child Zoomer in him. We read this 7 times the first day it arrived and it has been in the daily book pile every day he spends the night since. Highly recommend this to any parent or teacher.
