To say it works with IFTTT is stretching the truth
I had massive problems setting this up (I have 50+ devices in the house this was the hardest) It has a VERY LOUD annoying beep when trying to join the wifi (using 2.4Ghz). It did not work on my Android phone, eventually had to switch to iphone (at set location to 'when using only' for eWeLink app. The email field in ewelink is a terrible app, is case sensitive so if your phone capitalises it the app will say your account doesn't not exist. Then finally i did get it configured and fitted it to the fan. Yes it does work with Alexa, you can turn the fan on and off , you can turn the light on and off. But you cant control the speed via Alexa. In IFTTT , apparently you have to select a single switch config, but my list of devices in IFTTT for this fan is empty (a common problem if you google it) but even if it did work in IFTTT you can only turn it on and off, not the light or the speed. I think this should be specified and not just say that its compatible, its about 30% compatible. but having said all that ( I bought this for IFTTT and integrate it into my smart house) it does work with alexa for basic functions. I would like to see all speeds/light work with Alexa and IFTTT then it would be 5* review.

It’s a pain to connect to and bigger than the infrared unit it replaced
Very difficult to connect to your WiFi. Only connects to 2.4G WiFi.Only way I could get it to connect To my WiFi was if I did the following,Before I started, I downloaded the eWeLink app, created an account and paired it to my Alexa account.1. Put the light in pairing mode - 2 short beeps followed by 1 long, by holding the pairing button on the light controller for 5-7seconds.2. Press pairing button again until the the light controller beeps change to repeated short beeps.3. Connect mobile phone WiFi to the lights’ WiFi hotspot. The hotspot SSID starts with ITEAD- followed by ten digits. The password is 12345678. Set phone to auto connect to this WiFi hotspot and stop auto-connecting to other WiFi routers.4. Start app and click + to add a new device, insert details for your 2.4G router WiFi and wait whilst it’s tries to connect to light.5. Wait until the connection fails at the 1:00 min mark.6. It will ask if you want to use an adhoc connection and explains how to do it. At this point exit out the app and go to settings in your phone, repeat the steps above to get the light into the repeated short beep mode(adhoc) and connect the phone to its WiFi again. This must be done quickly as the app will go back to the eWeLink app home page if you take to long.7. Once the phone is connected to the light WiFi hotspot, return to the app and press the continue button at the bottom. This way the app found the light and configured the light to connect to my WiFi router. You can then setup the name of the light and operate it from the app. My Alexa found the light at this point and I could then use voice command at this point.I had to use this method to connect a 4 in 1 switch as I had the same problem with that. The method above took me two hours to get a system that worked, was ready to box it up and send it back to Amazon, which is a shame as the light and fan react quickly to commands once I got it working. Seems to have lost the dimmer function as well but I’m not that bothered about that. One other thing about this unit is it’s size. I expected, due to its shape in the photos, to fit in the same spot as the fan infrared controller it is replacing. Unfortunately it is about 1mm wider, which on my light made it not fit where it should go. This made installation very tight. I doubt this until would fit at all in fan light that mounts directly to the ceiling without a drop pole.I think I would look for an infrared controller to operate the light using the original internal hardware rather than replacing it with this. The manual is tiny and the text even smaller.

Works well
This is attached to our bedroom ceiling fan and works really well.Ewelink is connected to Google assistant so the fan, it's speed and the light can all be controlled by voice as well as the light. You can ask Google to turn the fan on for x mins / hours so that the fan doesn't go all night. The remote works well but the buttons aren't very well labelled and the symbols are very small. You need to be comfortable with electricity to install it properly and since the unit is large then it needed to go above the ceiling so you need access to the space above or cut a slot unto the ceiling. It's best to bypass the light switch and only use the remote / voice to control this.

Use capacitor if you have a smart wall switch with no neutral
If you have a smart switch with no neutral wire add the capacitor on the input of the device otherwise it’ll continue to cut out but I have that in now and it’s working perfect the fan is in my sisters room and I wanted to make sure it was safe to use and she’s going for a whole smart set up so this works perfect box is bigger than expected but I’ve placed it in the loft and works fine very happy :)

Doesn’t work, very buggy, no after sale care avoid!
Might as well thrown money down the drain. It started well with unit in pair mode I had to switch my modem to 2.4ghz only while trying to pair however after the sequence of pairing timed out it would no longer pair. So I tried the remote, this was paired so I followed many step by step instructions to try and get a beep from the unit but no luck it was having none of it. But at least the unit worked from the remote right, wrong! The unit then decided it wouldnt work with the remote it had somehow unpaired itself so the only thing I could do is switch the light on/off by the Aetna button I left it disconnected for a week to see if the unit would refresh, nope no luck. I thought ok these sonoff guys will respond to my email, no response I posted on the forum, no response. So I went from having a working ceiling fan to nothing in the middle of a heat wave. I have today removed the unit from my fan and awaiting a replacement from another company to which I hope is better than this. I have other sonoff units in my house which work fine but this is just buggy and non responsive waste of components. If I could of scored zero I would. I gave the company time to help, respond etc before posting a bad review as I would normally be respectful to company’s trying to build a good image etc but 12-14 days no response or help I feel I have been ripped off.
