Quake 4 - Xbox 360

I originally purchased this for PC when it was first released, loved it. No longer have those discs, bought a version off steam years ago but have since moved out into the country where our DSL internet has been atrocious at best and due to having a data cap dling using my phones' 4G isn't an option, so I picked up this 360 copy.Game is every bit as awesome now 12 or so years later, as it was when I first played it. id nailed the whole sci-fi alien vs human theme. Though limited, I enjoyed exploring the Hannibal spaceship, and then stomping through the bowels of Stroggos and splattering Squibs all over the walls... just pure fun!I sorely miss this kind of SP game, where it is more focused on the story and less on the twitch-reflex MP kill streak madness. Mind you- the story isn't deep, it's exactly as it appears on the surface- it's a sci-fi action thriller where you're front and center, controlling the hero of the story. There's no deep back story or character development per se. It focuses on the action, and keeps a solid pace. I want a Quake 5, with the same atmosphere, picking up where this one left off.If a fun SP campaign with strong sci-fi and action elements is what you're wanting, this is it. No need to do a lot of thinking with this game- no super complex puzzles to figure out, it's great to just pickup and kill some time. There's nothing intellectual about this game- it's run and gun pure and simple.

For the type of game that it is, it's excellent. Much like Doom 3 and Prey, it's got good guns, fast gameplay, smooth controls, and a dark sci-fi/horror story. Even though it's a bit older and I'm just now getting around to playing it, it's still a lot of fun. I can't complain about the price either. You can normally find it for around $10 these days, which is a steal for any decent game. I always loved playing Quake 1 and 2 on my N64 and this game lives up to my expectations. I'm glad to see that the Sci-Fi FPS genre has been hanging in there. I didn't play it online/multiplayer so this review is solely based on the single player campaign.

If your a fan of the Quake series and are looking for an interresting and fun single player experience this game will satisfy. Overall it is a good storyline and mixes things up enough to stay interresting. Dont be misled about the multiplayer aspect of the game. It blows! It's like a really bad rendition of Quake III arena and in fact uses some of the same maps but is horrible in comparison. Players move slower, the graphics look bad and it just doesnt have the fun feel that quake III arena did.

The game has a great single player experience. However, due to its age, hardly anyone plays it online anymore. Each time I have tried to join an online multiplayer game I have not been connected with anyone. I find it hard to believe that no one in the U.S. was playing at each of those times, but that is what happened. Also, compared to more recent games, it is disappointing that the game does not include a split-screen deathmatch or co-op mode.

A great game that's pure fun, but still has some problems. Its not the best in the series so I would say get it only if you want to complete the series or your collection. Otherwise its just a fun game to play on down time

I really luv the visuals and the game play, the weapons and creatures, the main guy becoming half strog was wicked, the problem is later in the game it kept freezing with glitches and stopping and starting finally wudnt play at all. I thought I had a bad copy so I put in my brothers copy and same thing. It was great while it lasted but its quite bogus that I cant finish this game. Luckily I only paid $4 for it, used on Amazon.

Quake 4 was my first quake game I have ever played it came with quake 2 to give the player an understanding of the story I guess which was convenient but it sometimes got a little buggy and the story so far is not the best. I know this game goes far back and helped make fps games popular which I respect but Quake 4 is sort of hard to get into.

I bought this used form Twin Cities pawn. It was shipped and received in a timely manner, and the disc quality was excellent. It also came with all the booklets and the bonus disc that a lot of times is left out when bought used.

One of the best games in the series of Quake because it has a single player story mode, they should make more single player story focused games of Quake

A really great FPS game, along the genre as Doom. Not for the squemish
