This is probably the best guitar instruction book I have ever seen
This is probably the best guitar instruction book I have ever seen. I've been playing for over 40 years and had a lot of guitar instruction material. I play mostly rock, country rock, and fingerstyle acoustic but country guitar skills were lacking. I now have an excellent resource to improve. This book is pretty deep yet is easy to follow. Make sure you get the audio files as the written music and tabs are missing the tempo tags. Also the files help impart a sense of the style that written music can't quite transmit.Awesome.James

Lot's of good material
If you're into country guitar, this has a lot of good licks to learn. I hesatated at first about buying this book because it doesn't have a CD and my experience with "accessed audio files" has not been good, but I was able to burn a CD using iTunes and that worked out well. Still, I miss not being able to get CD's with these books.

A Must Have Book for Beginning Country Players!
I've already learned the first 5 licks of this book and I'm lovin' it. The book engages you right from the start and the licks are short enough to generate new ideas. Al Bonhomme knows his stuff. He's taught at Musician's Institute in Los Angeles and is a well seasoned veteran of country music and the music industry in general. I should know, I've taken several in-person lessons from him. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in this genre of music or if you just want to broaden your musical talent. You will improve!

Awesome, very helpful in learning country guitar
Amazing book, totally worth it. After playing guitar for almost 20 years, it made me feel fresh again in my playing and I learned a ton! It totally helped get my mind around country guitar, which is a very different monster compared to other genres. And it's not over your head with technical terms, it's a down to earth lesson book which breaks down licks and lessons into easy to understand peices.

Great book to get that country sound
I love this book, it’s got just about everything I’m looking for in country guitar! Funny enough I’ve been doing gigs the past few months with Al and just realized it was his book I’ve been learning from! If you want something with easy licks to more advanced stuff then this is for you!

Great instructional book for even intermediate/advanced players
This book kinda has it all if you know basic music theory, pentatonic scales and understand the Nashville number system... This book and Fred Sokolow's Country Fretboard Road map are the best books for getting that country sound for guitar players that are beyond the beginner stage.

the content is high quality and easy to follow and the recorded examples are excellent
I have only had this book for about 3 weeks and therefor haven't read it all. Saying that, the content is high quality and easy to follow and the recorded examples are excellent. The book is crammed full of useful licks and solos. I have been playing for many years and own many similar books, but this one seems to be one of the best that I have seen. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning country guitar.
