The DevOps Adoption Playbook: A Guide to Adopting DevOps in a Multi-Speed IT Enterprise

Useful, well-written and practical
This is an excellent resource for leaders who want to adopt devops. Practitioners and coaches, while good at their craft, are sometimes not at their best when it comes to presenting their organized thought process in a book format. This book has it all: experience distilled into actionable tasks that does not read like a powerpoint. It is very evident that Sanjeev Sharma has taken great effort, and written this very well as evidenced by fluidity of content, interspersed with great quotes. This is one my most valued source of reference.

DevOps is a Journey
A lot of good messages and insights we have in this book mainly for those responsible to manage and deliver the DevOps adoption in the companies. DevOps is a journey and, this way, it needs to be planned and tested all the time in order to fit the companies needs. Continuous improvements is another approach mandatory and key for this journey and the author presents a real and feasible way to progress on the DevOps adoption. This book is a must read for those that have the challenge to develop and lead this journey. You will not feel alone.

Fantastic, fresh approach to DevOps guidance
The unique connections that Sanjeev makes in this book between modern, efficient, high-quality software delivery and the world of sports made this a really enjoyable read. Sanjeev's playbook is an awesome - and proven(!) - collection of data points, stories, case studies, and his own personal observations that really combine into a powerful read.

Got a proofed print version
Almost every single page is in incorrect format, alignment, missing text, images are incomplete and it's hard to make sense of anything.Got the book a few weeks ago and now got the time to read but I'll have to return.Big disappointment with the seller. BIG.Book was well recommended... If I get a new version, I'll revaluate.

A Brilliant must read for DevOps practitioners and managers
When it comes to Devops doyens - I have been an admirer of Sanjeev ever since i came across his short videos on Devops on YouTube. I always used to think wouldn't it be great if he could condense his thoughts into a book ? - his 75 page primer on devops "devops for dummies" is an excellent high level overview of devops and whetted my appetite for something bigger and more detailed , particularly in terms of implementation strategies ..and here we have it finally - The Devops Adoption Playbook ! Probably the first book after college which made me want to sit down with highlighters !The book is extremely readable with lovely sporting analogies, real world examples and experiences - that make an otherwise dry topic enjoyable. At the same time, there is plenty of actionable information available as a takeaway . Even if one is hard-pressed for time (as i am ) to read the book cover to cover right off the block , Reading Chapters : 2 -Adopting DevOps, 3 - Developing a Business Case for a DevOps Transformation & 4 - DevOps Plays for Optimizing the Delivery Pipeline provide solid value .Large organizations that are primarily service based are often slow to respond to current trends and best practices - and maintaining the status quo is seen as the primary goal.Management are mostly wary of disturbing the current delivery mechanisms . Optimization - though an oft stated goal , is rarely taken to fruition .This book offers stunning clarity to people/organizations finding themselves at the threshold of a DevOps transformation, but are unsure of a reliable road-map . I hope i can take the essence of this book into management meetings and put forward workable and productive suggestions .

Mantenerse actualizado
