Inside the Star Tree Toppers is a calidiscope. This attaches to the front and back of the inside of the star topper. Both mounting points where broken off. Had to use a fast acting glue (adults use only 2P-10 Thick plus activation spray) it only took 30 seconds to fix. Wait a minute and fit on to top of tree. Our tree is 7.5ft w/9ft ceilings. So the pattern is small but still a very nice touch. A smaller tree or taller ceilings will make a larger star movement on the ceiling. Other then the calidiscope being detached not a bad unit for the price.::::::::NOTE TO MANUFACTURER:::::::I would suggest spending another .50 to .75 cent on packaging so this doesn't happen in next years batch of star being shipped.

UPDATE: The seller is working to make things better with this purchase for me. Shows good character that they care about thier service. If you buy just check the product as soon as possible and contact the seller as soon as possible. I am pleased they are working to compensate me for the troubles.Cute concept but the middle rotating mechanism arrived broken (the cross pieces snapped) because the packaging was flimsy. I waited 10 days to install on the the tree and no time to return and get another before Christmas. So I had to glue the mechanism in the middle in place for it to stay on the tree and work.

I spent a long time trying to find the best and least expensive of this projection-style star, LED warm white plug in. This one was definitely the least expensive at $9.99, but the quality isn’t good. The rotating projection part was either broken or never attached to the inside. If you’re looking for this style I would recommend “Vanthylit Golden Star Christmas Tree Topper with Built-in Rotating Warm White Star Projector for Christmas Tree Ornament,” although both toppers were way too heavy for a real tree.

I got the stars version as a nightlight. Admit to immediately dismantling the outer cheap plastic star and installing the kaleidoscope lamp in a pretty voltive jar. This increased the viewing width of the light show.. It looks lovely, and provides just enough light at night.

There was no way to secure this on the top of my artificial tree it was way to heavy and the cord did not go down the middle. The star snapped together but didn’t stay properly. The reflection on the ceiling was nice so I just put it on a table to enjoy the stars projecting upward.
