To clean the Gold Dragon Carbon Steel Cooking Wok its best to wash with warm water and a soft sponge or wok brush. Never use harsh cleaners or metal scrubbers on the wok it will damage the surface and scrub through the patina. For heavy messes, it’s best to soak in hot water to loosen food stains, followed by gently scrubbing with a sponge or a wok brush.

Q: Can I wash the wok with soap?

You should NOT ever wash any cast iron with soap. We use hot water and a metal mesh chain scrubber, dry, and season it with olive oil. Store until next use.

Q: Can you use a metal spatula with the wok?

It's a personal preference, I think. I've used metal utensils on cast iron. You do want to be careful not to remove any of the season on the iron. All that flavor is what you want to keep. That's why I don't use detergent on them either. Just hot water and a metal ringed mesh type of scrubber.
