Very good crime drama
This review is for the Amazon VOD rental of this film. This is a very good policedrama. Excellent, fast paced story about an alcoholic cop with people issues in-vestigating a murder in which he may be the prime suspect. Antonio Resines is verygood as the troubled cop and has the perfect hound dog look for the role. All thesupporting actors are also very good. This VOD rental is in Spanish with Englishsubtitles.

Modern Spanish Film Noir
Very enjoyable mystery/suspense film from Spain with excellent cinematography and editing. Subtitles are good, with one or two misspellings. Special features don't appear to have subtitles or English audio track, unfortunately. Nonetheless, this is worth seeing.

Typical homicide twister
From Spain comes this so-so movie about a homicide detective, played by Antonio Resines by the name of Javier. Javier seems to suffer from the usual maladies associated with the stereotypical cop. He is an alchoholic, sleeps around and is walking that thin line between a cop and a criminal. He finds himself over the edge as he wakes up at an older womans house, sees her wimpy, whipped husband in the kitchen for breakfast, all the while without any memory of what happpened, including how he got mixed up with the old hottie, well, she isn't hot but thinks she is. He also discovers a murder has taken place and wonders if he had anything to do with it when he discovers the bloody scissors(thus the bloody X). The movie moves along, revealing how Javier 's life is whacky and screwed up. Some thugs want the loot that is missing from the murdered victim, murder the older woman's wimp husband after some torture and then the mystery begins.Javier tries to solve the murder all the while wondering of his own implication as all clues point to him. The movie is slow at times so be sure you watch it well rested.I was disappointed with this thriller because I thought it might be provocative like the recent, excellent thriller from Spain Intacto as it was compared as being part of the new wave. Without giving to many details I would just say that his movie fell short of my expectations and would consider it only average. If you like thrillers from Spain you might like it, otherwise beware or be rested before you watch it.
