Five stars with an asterisk*
I will give this product 5 stars with an asterisk. I am not crazy about the packaging. I tore the security seal and was covered with green powder. It's messy. I am looking for a glass jar with a wide mouth and a scoop. Like other reviewers I would prefer a container with a scoop. That said, I love this product. I mix it in my smoothie in the morning. It blends well and there is no aftertaste that others describe. I also make my own Kombucha so I add a teaspoon to my daily bottle of Kombucha. The health benefits are amazing. This really is a super food. I will continue to purchase this product from this vendor and recommend it to others. Truly amazing.

Excellent quality.
This was my first time using spirulina from this company. After a few weeks I have nothing but good things to say. The package arrived sealed and undamaged. The taste and smell are consistent with other spirulina products I have used. No issues with spoilage, contaminants, or anything questionable. I am happy to find a spirulina product that is actually grown and processed in the USA. Very happy with my purchase.

the very best for the dollar on Amazon
I’ve been using spirulina for over 30y. This is clearly the best so far. It is a deep, rich emerald green, super dense, very clean taste, very fresh & very high potency. Very importantly it is USA grown so its purity and freedom from toxins is ensured to a higher degree than other spirulina whose origin is dubious.

Great product definitely recommend, just one con!
My husband is vegan and heard about Spirulina after ordering a smoothie at our local mall here in Austin, Tx. We were a little worried about ordering a food substance over the internet, however, because of all the great reviews we went ahead and gave it a shot.PROS: The Spirulina Powder was sealed when arrived. The taste is great and mixes well when blended with other fruits and veggies. The product will definitely last for some time, since you only have to use a small amount. Which is great for what you paid.Me and my husband both use it, have had for almost two months of every other day use, and it looks like we barley used it.CONS: The only con i have is that the powder is extremely messy and gets on your fingers. It does wash off. I recommend transferring the powder into a sealed jar or anything that doesn't require you to stick your hand in and get it stained. (PICTURE INCLUDED) Cause it will happen lol.Other than that the product is great, taste great, and will last for a while, totally recommend!

Great Product at A Great Price, and I consume lots of spirulina.
I'm really happy to finally find a spirulina product that is both organic and grown in the USA. I usually can only find one or the other, and if it's both it's quite expensive (Hawaii spirulina). The color is very dark blue green, as it should be. There is no weird taste beyond the usual spirulina flavor, if anything I think it has a better flavor than I'm used to.I take a tablespoon almost every day. I mix it in water with 1tsp of cayenne and some lemon juice. The lemon juice really balances out the flavor, makes that amount of spirulina much easier to drink.

Exceptional quality and value :)
So happy with this purchase! Really good quality and what a value! It’s deep dark green, fresh and dissolved perfectly. The taste is pure and not overwhelming like others Ive tried. Highly recommend this!

high quality, dark blue green, huge quantity for the price
I bought this brand because I was buying another very pricey brand and this saves sooo much money to buy in bulk. I noticed how much better I feel following the medical medium and taking spirulina and barley grass every day with celery juice. . I am sold. Thank you.

possibly dangerous
Spirulina contains B12 analogues which the body cannot differeniate from real B12. When consumed the B12 analogues can occupy the same transporter that the body uses to absorb normal B12. The problem here is that when you've abosorbed B12 analogues any supplemental B12 you consume and any B12 you get through your diet can be blocked. That means this product contains a naturally occuring antivitamin termed a "B12 Analogue" which Blocks B12 absorption to some degree. All spirulina does. What's concerning is; the test that most family physicians use to test for B12 isn't good enough to differentiate between real B12 and the B12 analogues contained in Spirulina. So you and your Doc might think you're fine when in fact you're B12 deficient. The only question is how much real B12 does it block? B12 is only absorbed and required in microgram amounts daily so this could be a big deal or it might not matter. For example if you're vegan and your only source of B12 is a supplement this might concern you. Or if you have crohns, IBS or take metformin you can have impaired B12 absorption, in which case, it would matter a lot. Depends on the person. Several scientific studies have shown worse B12 blood levels in normal people after 30 or 60 days of using spirulina. I wasn't comfortable with the idea of B12 analogues myself given how vital B12 is as a nutrient so I tossed it. Lesson learned = do your research! That's not the only possible issue with spirulina either, nor the worst. Research "microcystin contamination" and "BMAA" to learn about the other possible issues. But I'll leave that to you since my reason for tossing this product was due to the B12 issue. What I find curious is that none of the spirulina sold on amazon mentions these issues. They are significant health concerns and not a peep from anyone selling it. If I was selling a product that had as many serious *possible* dangers as this I would want to assure my customers that my product was not contaminated and maybe discuss the B12 analog issue as well to assuage any concerns. I'm not a doctor or a scientist myself so I can only base my decisions on the information I have available. And what is available is quite concerning. Now, it may be a non-issue but the answer to these questions is a big unknown. It would be really nice to have some transparency from the manufacturers and dealers of spirulina so that we could get some answers to these questions and concerns.
