Autel MS906TS Diagnostic System

I am a shadetree mechanic and I work I/T for a living. I had a "blue driver" scanner that did a lot for the money, but when the dealer wanted several hundred dollars to diagnose and repair my boyfriend's airbag light on his Scion xD, I bit the bullet and bought this Autel. I definitely can't justify the price of a SnapOn or any other scantool for the small amount of work I perform, but this Autel was just the right price and does everything I ask it to. I've relearned airbag sensors on Toyotas, programmed keyless entry on subarus, reset transmission wear values, programmed TPMS for my room mate's Sonic and way more... It paid for itself in less than a month after purchase.I also see folks like South Main Auto, Scotty Kilmer etc using this scanner, so I know it's great.

Great product came brand new as discribed. Works on older obd and newer obd2 with can. Easy to navigate. This was the best price I could find. Money well spent. One of the tool trucks had it listed for over a grand more than what I purchased it for. Did a comparison to a high end brand scanner and was very happy I went with the autel. Great communication from seller.

I gave this tool an entire year of use before this review. I'm a master mechanic running a used car reconditioning team for Toyota so I work on every kinda of at a dealership level of expertise but not just on one manufacture. I have pushed this tool to it's limits of what it can and can't do. I would say for most people they will never use this tool to it's full potential. I've done coding on Toyota to make the windows roll down with the use of the key fob to programming new VIN numbers on used ECU so the networks inside the car will talk nicely to each other. Auto write ID's to TMPS computers snagged directly from the tool. Does somethings faster than the Toyota factory tool. Haven't been able to perform certain SCN coding from Mercede. Failed to perform smart key access on a Dodge Challenger but did add the immobilizer and Keyless side just fine. Some screams are scream for screen compared factory tool. Some rough translations and have noticed it will skip certain steps I've come across and if your don't know what to do you could getstuck. Can get a bit laggy. Some cars work faster than others. Does work without current software subscription. speaking of the subscription, my first year of renewing will cost me $800. Sometimes functions are not where your would expect them to be and have to hunt for then. 1 menu may say it may not be able to do a certain task and going through a different Sub menu you will be able to perform that task. Would buy this tool again.

I programmed TPMS sensors on a 2009 Nissan rogue, able to diagnose SRS light on my 2005 Honda CRV SE, was also able to program 2 genuine Honda keys. Also has auto vin scan which saves a ton of time on OBDII cars (94+). I would recommend this to a DIY or a independent mechanic. Warning, The 906 has several variants, The 906TS has full TPMS abilities, the 906BT does not.

So far I really like this tool. I haven't had to deal with customer service yet so that's a good thing. It seems to work on may platforms of vehicles and the tpms works great on gm vehicles! Only flaw is the screen is very susceptible to scratches.

I updated mine and just after update expired i lost bmw coverage, there is no more BMW or MINI on the tool so tech support and they told me that there is notting they can do that i will have to update again $800 to fix the problem which is total BS, Autel has been 1 of my favorate brand for a while but not anymore.

The product is good. The product description does not match the item I received. Updating is not cheap, but I got a used one, so by the time I receiving this machine I lost a lot of money.I'm going to return it
