Bisquick All Purpose Mix, 80 Ounce

As the temps outside drop, I love baking bread... but don't always feel up to the time or mess involved. Something I've discovered is an all purpose biscuit and baking mix (Bisquick is a favorite) makes a super fast and simple loaf of beer bread. In a mixing bowl, stir together 2-1/2 to 2-3/4 cups Bisquick All Purpose Mix and 1/4 cup granulated white or brown sugar; add one 12 ounce bottle of light beer and beat together until combined. The batter will be lumpy. Pore and spread batter into a well-greased loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. Remove from oven, cool a few minutes and turn the loaf out onto a cooling rack. You can enjoy the bread warm or cooled to room temperature. Substitute up to 1/2 cup of Bisquick All Purpose Mix with quick cooking oats for a heartier bread. Stir a small amount of dried herbs into the dry ingredients before adding the beer for herbed bread. Play with the recipe!What's nice about Bisquick All Purpose Mix is how versatile it is. It can be used to coat boneless meat before pan frying, makes a terrific crust-less quiche, becomes the basis for yummy cookies or muffins, and of course makes biscuits, shortcakes, pancakes and waffles. During cooler months when I bake more often, it's handy to have on hand when I want homemade taste without a lot of hassle.

For one thing and in that I am a huge fan and lover of dumplings, I like the fact that making dumplings with Bisquick is fast and easy. I can make them and be eating them in less than half the time it would take me making dumplings from scratch. Additionally, Bisquick makes one very good pancake.

Have used this most of my life. Everyone knows What Bisquick taste like,I bought it bcause I needed drop biscuits and dumplings. I didn’t expect my husband to make Ultimate pancakes on the side of the box. Ditched vanilla extract instead added almond extract. Topped w/ honey butter and fresh orange zest! they really were amazing pancakes!

It's a big box but I like to have it on hand for quick biscuits. Very versatile and easy. I tried adding just a little baking powder (~1\2 tsp) to the mix to make them a little lighter. I'm very pleased to have it or I probably would've gone through a smaller box by now.

Some days don't feel like cooking much. I have the Bisquick cookbook for their "Impossible Pies," which always turn out decently, if not the highest quality of gourmet meals--SO, I thought it would be a good idea to have a big box of Bisquick on hand. When the box arrived, I was shocked at its size (admittedly my own casual feeling--"Oh, I'll just order a big box to have on hand." Important to keep it in the fridge, once opened. If I had to do it again, I'd have ordered a much smaller quantity. The product itself is handy, though I wouldn't say it makes for top quality cooking. It's especially good if you're a working parent and have a bunch of kids to feed!

I have been using this to prepare pancakes, waffles and bread. if you follow the recipe you will have a very delicious and yummy food, and especially for the waffle it is very yummy. I would recommend it for every one likes to make pancake and waffles at home.
