Q: Are the flakes dewaxed?

tbh i do not know. i do know that i mixed it with 99% isopropyl alcohol read that could be used but did not get good results. the mixer was cloudy BU ALSO NOT BLONDE. amber was the color of its energyyy. well milky amber. the shallac was in a large ziploc bag within a thicker plastic bag that had shellac fake in it as well. poorly packaged and possibly bad as im finding out the stuff is natural and can go bad if not properly stored. i have yet to mix another batch with grain alcohol denatured. but i have applyed that cloudy shellac mix to the guitar im restoring and its not terrible looking. thats from my 3hrs of french polishing experience. im sure the frenchmen is rolling in his grave. so with all that being said... i dont know if its dewaxed. i do know it was cheap and i plan to give it a second chance when i reach that part of the guitar restoration. If you got the coin for it buy a batch from another company that has "dewaxed shellac flack" in the title just to be sure.

Your best bet is to go on u-tube and search shellac how to and there are dozens of people who will explain how to get the different cuts of shellac using the flakes and and denatured alcohol.
