BOARD IS NOT a true Y of all 8 pins.
My most recent order (Aug 2017) of these were not the same as my original order (July 2017). See photo (left is what I received in August, right what I received in July).Basically looking down at the connector with label orientated towards you Bottom (B) pins 8-1 and top two connectors Left (L) 1-8 and Right (R) 1-8 connections are as follows:B8 -> L6 / B7 -> L3 /B6 -> R6 / B5 -> No Connection / B4 -> No Connection / B3 -> R3 / B2 -> No Connection / B1 -> No ConnectionHad to return all items and hand build adapters for my project needing 12 of these. 2 Pack RJ45 Splitter Connectors, 1 to 2 Ways Ethernet cables interface RJ-45 Socket Adapter 8P8C HUB Network LAN Internet PC laptop router cable Coupler contact Modular plug For Cat5 Cat5e Cat6 Cat7

Unsure what it's supposed to be...
I got this because I needed a RJ45 shielded splitter ("Y" cable) for a hobby project, the description seemed to describe what I need. A splitter, something that wouldn't let you use 2 computers at the same time (not a switch), shielded, 8 pins in all the plugs. Sounds fine on paper.What actually arrived I'm not entirely sure what it would be used for. It modifies the pinout in the one jack (fortunately didn't blow up my radio!) and the other jack only gets part of the pins. I don't see how on a computer it would allow anything to connect to anything either unless you have a single 10/100Mbit device and plug it into only the one port but at that point it's just a really garbage coupler.I've attached photos of the pinout tested from the ones I got, hopefully that will save someone else the pain of going thru what I did. Can't decide if I am going to try and return these or just smash them open to try and rewire them.

It works as intended.I use it to switch between game consoles with needing to disconnect cables back and fourth. And yes it only sends a connection to one at a time just like the description says. I was glad they updated it to this version. Some were saying that it had different parts before and didn't work but I'm glad they fixed it.

Garbage, don't buy.
Garbage, Only the left side works on both splitters, I cant get some much as a ping through the right side of either one.Seem you have a limited chance of getting a working splitter after looking over other reviews.

Does not work
I wanted to split one signal to two blu-rays players with no intention of using both at the same time. Only one of them worked even when the other player was turned off. I have to unhook one and swap back and forth depending which player i want to use, defeating the purpose.

Don't waste your money
Only 1 port worked on either one of these so it make ordering these useless.

Very good
Works as expected. I have 1 run of CAT5e to my AV-rack but needed to feed 2 devices with a LAN connection. This item does JUST THAT ! Thanks.

SAVE YOUR $!
SAVE YOUR $! Ordered these to use as a splitter w/ RJ45 cabling and they do not function for whatever reason(s)! After reading some other reviews, see I'm not alone. Not worth returning so into the trash they go,
