It lights up which if you are in a dark room it really gives off a good amount of light and you can see moons and stars on your walls. It also plays different sounds just like a submarine would do. It also has wheels on the bottom so that your kids can push it around like it is driving under water. This is a lot of fun for my kids and they love all the bright different colors and all the different things that they are able to do.
