Daron Staten Island Ferry with 3 NYC Vehicles

Living ten minutes from the Staten Island Ferry made buying this a must. It would have been a bit nicer if it were 100% die cast metal. Nevertheless, it's big and colorful. I won't be playing with it, so I can't vouch for durability, but I am enjoying looking at it displayed in my bedroom. Happy I bought it!March 30, 2013 update....I'm no longer as happy. The body of the ferry is solid plastic, but the sides are covered with mylar containing the words "Staten Island Ferry", etc. After several months, the mylar coating is losing contact with the plastic body and is bubbling in a half dozen places. You can smooth out the bubbles with your finger, but they'll pop up again within hours. They seem to be spreading too. The ferry is now starting to look pretty chintzy. If you're not using this as a toy, but as a display piece, be forewarned.

My little guy loves this ferry toy. And we're talking about a kid with too many toys for his own good what with indulgent parents and two full sets of doting grandparents and great grandparents. This ferry gives him another way to interact with his many toy cars (some of which had fallen into disfavor and been brought back into active play because of this ferry). It is well made and has inherent play value with it's two moving ramps and swiveling light/radar on top.Personally I find it to be well made and quality product and I too am pleased with it. My little guy has already asked for an outing to go ride the real Staten Island Ferry and we're both looking forward to that quality time. What more can you ask for?!

DOESN'T FLOAT, fills with water pretty quick. My son still likes it but I expected a boat/ferry to at least float.

This is a realistic-looking toy replica of the Staten Island ferry boat. It comes with three little toy vehicles: a NYC taxi cab, a Central Park ranger truck, and a tow truck. You can really use the hook on the toy truck to tow the other two vehicles. The boat comes with a neat little red rotating light. It also has on and off ramps that go up and down. Our 3YO is delighted with this toy and plays with it frequently. It does not float; the underside of the boat has little wheels so that it can roll along floors.

Its not everyday your son gets his hands on a ferry boat that will take standard matchbox/hotwheels type toy cars. There is also a nice red search light - its a nice toy. If your child likes to throw things around, you might wish to supervise, in my limited experience, ferries don't fair well to be chucked around. Afterall, we wouldn't want to see another damaged Staten Island Ferry ;)

My 3 year old son received this boat for Christmas. He loves all kinds of vehicles, so being able to play ships and cars at the same time was awesome to him. He loves putting the ramp down to have the cars drive onto the ferry, and is quite creative at parking them so that as many cars as possible can ride! He also likes to play with the working light. It is also a good-sized boat, larger than I had been anticipating from the photo.

Originally i found this to be too expensive but caved in because my kid would not leave me alone with this. It was a good purchase, he loves it and plays with it every single day, it made a trip to Europe and back and held up perfectly. Highly recommend it.

My son is 4 years old and loves riding the Staten Island Ferry. So I decided to get him this for Christmas. When we took it out the box I wasn't really impressed. It doesn't do anything..just simply rolls. And the "light" on the boat is just a tiny red laser looking light. Disappointed after paying thirty bucks for it...wish it was worth it.
