Worth it!
These provide excellent value for the price. They're smooth, easy to fill, and don't leak. They also look really nice and come in a protective case, which I didn't expect. It's not a fancy case at all, but hey- it's free! These do sometimes take a little writing to get started, but storing them point down (cap on, of course) helps to avoid that. Another downside is sometimes the caps take a little finagling to get them to post. To me, these two little quirks are not a problem at all, seeing as I paid so little for these. My Pilot Metropolitan and my Lamy Safari do work better than these pens, so if you're wanting an upgrade, either of those would be a good next step. But for a sturdy, inexpensive everyday writer, these are sure hard to beat!Update: 5 months in, the pens work as well as they did before, except that the lid tends to come off one of the pens when it's closed. They still look really nice, the finish has held up well. The case has held up well, too. The pens are the same, but my opinion has changed: if I were to go back in time (having experienced these pens) I would buy another Pilot Metropolitan or Lamy Safari instead of these. I find myself reaching for one of my "starts every time" pens more often than one of these, which may require a little prior scribbling. I wouldn't say I regret buying them, just that I wouldn't buy them again.

Love these. Smooth writers & snap cap great for work
Can't remember if I had a choice of nib size but I have these in what seems like a medium. They make a large enough stroke that you can take advantage with shimmer inks with no problem.Heavy metal pen with cool designs, and the snap cap makes them great for work since I work at a computer & the pen is opened & closed often. Nice satisfying snap, too. Haven't had a problem with them drying up while stored either.

Great Pens
Just got these pens, the look great. I have filled one with ink and it was very easy to do. I do a lot of journaling and wanted to try using fountain pens. These pens had some good reviews and I decided to try them out. So far, very good.

Simple and Elegant at a great price.
In recent years I have begun collecting fountain pens, starting with one (a Waterman) given as a gift to me by my grandmother. There is something about writing with a fountain pen that is just soothing to me. Anyhow, I ordered another Jinhao fountain pen a couple of years ago and it has been one of my favorites. It has a solid weight, feels durable, and also gets lots of compliments when people see it. They instantly assume it is very old, because very few people seem to use fountain pens anymore. I have run across multi-packs of these pens several times, but never a color combination or barrel style that I particularly care for, so when I ran across these, I just had to have them, and I was not disappointed. They are, like my first Jinhao, nicely weighted, sturdy, durable, and they look pretty damned good too. My 4 pack of choice came with the brushed silver, the black and silver check, the satin black, and what was described as lava red. I often have a hard time deciding which one I want to use. If you like fountain pens, and want to actually use them, but don't want to spend a fortune on the pen(s) or supplies, this is a great set, to start or add to your fountain pen collection.

Really substantial wet writers but inconsistent sizing!
I LOVE Jinhao pens! For their price, you're getting really decent writers! They have a great weight (a bit heavy when the cap is posted though, but big enough to write with unposted!) and their grips are SUPER comfy! But if you're looking for consistency, you'll probably need a nib swap as presented by my photo. I love wet broad nibs but as I'm gifting these off to family for Christmas, I'll either need to swap out nibs or adjust them to be less wet!Still worth the purchase IMHO as beautiful pen skeletons for better nibs, really classy looking and decently-sized pens at a great value!

I'm impressed
I love these pens I just got these pens and filled them up with ink. They come with a converter installed, so that's great. They also come in a felt like, zip-up case. They write smoothly with good ink flow. I love the way they feel in my hand. They have some weight to them and they are not thin, so if you like writing instruments with some weight to them, I recommend these.I am very impressed with these pens.

I don't know
I have too many fountain pens, so I haven't even tried these yet. The finish on all of them are excellent.

It has some hard starting (NOT OFTEN)
THIS IS A GREAT PEN to start with if you like heavier pens. This is more in the medium to heavy weight range, which feels very nice for people who prefer that. I think it is not too thick for people with smaller hands, and if you don't like the weight, don't post it. now for the cons, this pen has one major con: every time you stop writing for maybe 20 min, it will not write until you keep trying, and then the ink will start flowing. This is not a severe reason not to buy this pen, as it will start writing after about 5 seconds, but it is something to keep in mind. Overall, this is a fantastic pen for beginners, and this problem might not be with all of them, but if they fix that problem, it would be a 5-star.

Smooth pen, though a little heavy
The pen is really good for it’s price. It is predominantly a signature pen, and not for long writing. In terms of looks, the X-450 is better than this one, although the writing is almost similar.
