Provides everything you need to start seedlings
I found that a lot of products didn't have the dome, the tray and the cells sold as a unit. It was hard for me to find the perfect setup. This has all three and it comes with two little planting tools for your seedlings.

I ADORE these trays!
UPDATE: filling the same trays up for the 3rd season (3 years!) and they’re still going strong! I love these trays! They are so much sturdier than the cheapos you might find at big box stores and will be used for several seasons. The lids fit snuggly and the bottom tray is easy to fill & dump for bottom watering. I have filled an entire 7,000 sq ft garden with beautiful healthy plants this year using these trays- 40 trays in non stop rotation since January! Also, my photo shows basic $18 LED shop lights attached to storage shelves. It really is that easy! I wish I could reply to the negative reviews and help these sad people. What kind of soil are you using? Black Gold seedling mix is the bomb. Purchase seeds from a reputable company. Baker Creek Seed Company is amazing! Happy gardening yall!

Not Helpful Towards Environment & Customer
There's a lot of value in this (400 cells for an affordable price under $40), and I was eager to start seeds, so I purchased this set. I'm thinking I should have done more research beforehand. The bottom of the tray has a #6 recycling label on it, which is one of the least eco-friendly categories. (Waste Management DOES NOT ACCEPT THIS TYPE OF PLASTIC for curbside recycling!!! So into the landfill it goes) For those who don't know, here is some information from the farmer's almanac website:"#6: PS (POLYSTYRENE)Avoid polystyrene as best possible. It’s used for disposable styrofoam drinking cups, take-out containers, packing peanuts, and more.Polystyrene is not generally recyclable and accounts for about 35% of US landfill material. Because it breaks apart so easily, it’s also found ingested by marine animals and littering our beaches. Also, avoid reusing! Chemicals present in polystyrene have been linked with human health and reproductive system dysfunction. Polystyrene may leach styrene, a possible human carcinogen, into food products (especially when heated in a microwave!)."This means that chemicals can potentially leach into the water that's watering your vegetables/herbs from the tray. I can't find a number on the seed cell tray so I'm assuming it's made from a similar material (feels like styrofoam texture). It's not eco-friendly plastic and it's not the safest either. My other issue is with the company behind this product, Gardzen. They seem friendly and respond to messages within a reasonable period of time, but from my experience, I get the impression that they are not a company who keeps their word—in other words, they talk, but there is no action behind what they say, which is troubling to me.I sent them a message asking if the seed trays were BPA-free because I wanted to feel safe starting edible plants in these trays. The reply I got was:"We're so sorry, we didn't do the BPA test on this item, we only do the grow bags' BPA test. But we're gonna to do the seed trays' bpa test soon."Soon. So I waited 2 months and contacted them again to see if there had been any progress on this BPA testing that they were going to do. The reply I got was:"...so sorry, we haven't done the test. But before this item launched, we have done REACH test. And we also plant edible vegetables in these trays, pls don't worry. Anyway, we are so sorry."So bottom line is (aside from the fact that it sounded like they are actually not going to do the BPA test that they said they were going to do) I can't trust the materials used in this product to grow vegetables or herbs since it's constantly in contact with moisture and there is potential of leaching carcinogens. It's also not helping the environment with the type of plastic being one that causes so much pollution. (doesn't feel sturdy enough to last a long time either) And finally, I wish the company would have just been honest rather than sounding like the BPA test was definitely on their list to do and then coming up empty handed. Small thing, but small things like this can break a customer's trust in the brand/company.I will continue to use these for ornamental plants until they break and then will search elsewhere for better quality products & service.Update: Appreciate the company following through with getting the BPA testing done and uploading the results under product images. Thanks to everyone's helpful vote.

Durable, easy to use, works
I love the vented tops. The plastic is not rigid but sturdy enough that it is holding up to being moved around (and I stack them at night due to space). The lids are designed to sit gently on top not to click in place; this is by design. The last thing you want is to try and pry a lid off and risk disturbing the soil/seeds so it is nice that the lids don't grab. The lids help maintain humidity, warmth, and air control. I also appreciate that it comes with the solid bottom watering trays- great for catching drips. I used a silver marker to write the plant type and sow date directly on the edges of the tray. I bought the 5 pack and planted multiple vegetable seeds on 01/22/23; As of 02/05/2023 I already have kale (2 types), spinach, lettuce (several varieties), cauliflower, and lavender sprouted! Initially I kept these in the garage and put them out in the sun during the day (in the 40's). I'm in zone 8. However, we just got through several days of an ice storm. I moved the seed trays inside and used an old tube light on them (it wasn't a grow light but enough to keep them doing well for 3 days). I was able to move the trays back outside in the sun today (tops off); they will go back in the garage tonight since temps are back in 40's (with tops on). I did not use heat pads rather I used warm (not hot) water to spray my seeds when watering. Do some youtube videos on how to use seed trays/covers and start seeds- glad I did. I would def. buy these again.FYI, I have 2 different types of trays you see in my pics the smaller ones do not have vents and I don't like that (got them elsewhere). You do not see the vented dome on my trays outside (the large ones) because the seeds are all sprouted and the tops need to be off because they need the sun now. The stacked boxes show how I keep them at night in the garage. Last pic shows seed sprouts starting.

Nothing will grow
I have grown plants from seed for 35+ years, have grown plants in tin cans, old plastic containers, organic and plastic seed starters but have never come across something that just would not grow. Anything. not sure why, do not understand but I can not get anything to grow it these.
