16psi PUMP - Genuine Cummins high volume, low pressure piston lift pump for 1989-93 Dodge 6bt Cummins with VE Rotary Injection Pump - If you are looking at other lift/transfer pumps & they don't have "Cummins ABFJV - Made in China" cast into them, then they are not Genuine Cummins & are just one of the many cheap knock offs out there. Yes, Cummins has a plant in China and hasn't used "Carter" pumps for years now. Our 30mm large piston results in 25% more flow than the other 26mm low flow piston lift pumps & 50% more flow than the stock factory diaphram pump - The stock / OEM diaphragm lift-pump is 5-7psi with no load & drops to appox 0 psi under heavy engine load, specially if any performance mods have been added. - The standard off the shelf piston lift-pumps are 26mm small piston design and are 30 psi at no load & will blow the front fuel seal out of a VE inj pump & push fuel into the front engine gear case, causing oil contamination. Our 30mm pump drops only appox 4 psi under WOT on a heavily fuelled engine (Lines, banjo's, inj's, inj pump mods etc come into play, so your numbers may vary slightly) This provides more fuel volume, supporting larger injectors & inj pump mods, while better maintaining feed pressure to your VE injection pump, thus keeping the dynamic timing function of the VE inj pump within proper spec's. Our pump also has the correct inlet fitting & safe fuel pressure out, for your VE inj pump, unlike the std 2nd gen piston lift pumps. Any metering down of a 2nd gen piston pump with a needle valve will diminish fuel flow, which is not effiecent at all, seeing as you only gain safe pressure but at the cost of flow.- INSTALL KIT IS NEEDED TO INSTALL/CONVERT THIS STYLE PUMP ON THE 1ST GEN 1989-93 CUMMINS.
