6FT 2M USB to MIDI Interface Cable Adapter - USB to MIDI IN-OUT Cable Converter Music Keyboard Piano to PC Laptop for Windows XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win 10 and Apple Mac OS System

This was purchased as an interface between midi musical equipment and a PC. It did not provide this function, which made it "defective." The supplier has given me the runaround, with among other things demanding that I pay return postage on a defective $10 item. So rather than waste any more time, I decided to keep it and open it up, which is easily possible without causing any damage. The likely reason for its lack of function is that several components, critical for midi standards, have places on the circuit board, but are missing. Most notably missing is an optocoupler/photocoupler and associated miswiring of the midi connectors. This supplier would do everyone a favor by ceasing to sell this inferior device, while demanding that the manufacturer load all components and charge the fifty-cents more that will cost. This is a shameful waste of my time and money.

I have purchased these particular midi interfaces many times from Amazon. They automatically are detected by windows 7 and 10 load a driver and the lights will show activity from the midi device. I like the long 6 ft cables as they will reach the computer depending on your set up very easily and work well.

This low cost solution didn't work for me on windows 10.
