Nice deck shoe, but...
Most of my deck shoes these days, and from days of old, are Sperry’s. However, they are all not of the same acute standards as previous generations. Some are a little narrow, some are ankle biters, some squeak and some fit fine . There seems to be no consistency with quality control these days. These in particular were a little stiff out of the box so I put on socks to wear around the house to break them. Typically I do not wear socks with deck shoes, and am not used to having a "break in" period with them. These also squeak a when walking, and I am hoping that will diminish over time. Overall, a nice looking shoe with minimum break in period.UPDATE: I returned “the squeekers” and ordered a replacement pair. I have no issues with the second pair after a 30 minute sock break in period. So far so good....NEXT UPDATE: Two days later the squeaking started in the right shoe. The sound is one you might expect if you have wet shoes. I had to return these as well do to the noise when you walked. I wish these had a stealth mode since they were attractive and more comfortable than the first pair.

Good fit
I have wide feet and have lots of trouble finding a shoe that fits. I wore out my old Sperry shoes after 10 years and needed a replacement. I tried several other brands as well as several Sperry shoes that failed to fit, despite claiming to be extra wide. After a full year of searching, I gave these a shot and what a wonderful surprise. They sort of fit. Not as good as my last ones (which were a style discontinued by Sperry), but I have had these for several weeks and they do not cramp my feet. I've worn them a week on end, all day, and they felt pretty darn good. The only time they failed me was on an all-day city tour on sidewalks and cement floors. The Sperry cushioning was not enough.A problem I find is that shoe companies seem to totally ignore the shape of the human foot and make shoes based on style instead of accurate shaping. Yes I know that people have different feet, but basically the shape of our feet is much the same. When I trace the outline of my foot and compare it to modern shoe shapes, there is hardly any similarity. Clark Natureveldts are the only ones that are shaped to my feet. So I give Sperry a 4 for being wide enough, but they need a better shape to be given a 5.

Great Shoes!
I have always loved Sperry shoes. The Tarpon 2 Eye has been my design of choice for a couple years now. I love the dark brown. Only one store in my area carries this variation but they don't carry the Wide version. Amazon does!! My only grip (assuming it is because they are likely made in Asia, is that they don't hold up as long as they did 15 years ago. My very first pair of Sperry's lasted about 5 years (and I wore than practically every day). The last couple pairs I've owned only survive for 2 years max. I still give these 5 stars beacuse of comfort and style and the understanding that even in the US quality is not what it once was.

Great shoes!
I picked up a pair of these at an outlet stores 3-4 years ago and have worn them pretty much since then -- the shoes are fine, but the mesh is torn from bumping into things for that hobo look. My lovely wife said "it's time" so I found the item number on the tongue and ordered the same model.Sure enough, they're perfect. Loosened up after a couple of days so I can slip them on and off without untying or even bending over and after a week, they feel just like the last ones. Also rock-solid -- I can't imagine slipping in these, even on a wet surface. And of course, they're comfortable. Now if they'll last another 2-3 years, I'll be in hog heaven.

I’m impressed!
I have not been gentle on these! They have been submerged in saltwater for 10 hours straight while I surf fished (It was rocky and they kept my feet from getting torn up), they have been used when doing heavy yard work, climbing up ladders, and a lot more brutal work that they just weren’t intended for, but they have held up through it all and clean up quickly and still look new. You get what you pay for when you spend a little extra for real sperrys

Nice Boat Shoes. A Bit Narrower than Other Medium Shoes..
As always with Sperry boat shoes, these are stylish and well made of good materials. They feel a bit snug in width but not so much that I feel the need to return them. Will just wear thinner socks til they break in.

Can't beat Sperry quality
Ordered these for the hubby because he had worn holes in his shoes from being at work on a concrete floor. So far he likes them a lot and says that they are very comfortable. Looks like they are made well. He usually wears out a pair of shoes within about 6 to 8 months so we will see. The color and the style are nice! He usually wears a 11 1/2 but I ordered a 12 wide and they were just a fraction long due to the wide width but he says they are fine and is breaking them in.

soles ware out way to fast
love the shoes- very comfortable-this is my second pair. issue is the sole of the shoe has already worn through the first layer in less than thirty days- the material used does not hold up. these shoes will not last 6 months at this rate of ware.I would expect this out of cheap shoes but not at this price point. plan to return the shoes and buy a different brand.
