I love shave bars
The trouble with shave bars is that they last too long. Not really, value for money there really is no comparison.Back to them lasting too long… by the time I need to buy a new shave bar I’ve forgotten the what I had before so I just buy what I can find. And this is the problem! Too many times I have purchased shave bars that don’t keep a lather. The last bar I bought I had to lather up four times before I got the full shave in.I did some research and found Col. Conk and took the risk (It’s not really a risk. It’s maybe $4 a bar).I am so satisfied! Great lather, nice smell but not over powering, smooth glide. I’m a believer!Back to the problem with shave bars… Just in case I forget again I bought three more bars so I have back up. That’ll probably last me a few years.

Good Value
I like the old brush and lather shave. These soap pills work great and last a while. Good product and price.

Bad, bad, bad product change
Go see the other review for comparing this new “version”. Dead-on correct. Mine had no scent, the only scent was the reference on the box. Wouldn’t surprise me if all 3 or 4 “scents” are all the same. I could have been using the Amber and had no clue. The little joy of getting that first whiff of the scent from a new container is gone.Lather dissipated before I could begin to shave. (I shave without glasses on, used to be able to see where I had already shaved since the lather was gone. First times with this, I forgot what/where I was doing, the lather was down to slightly-bubbly clear water)They didn’t even get the color and consistency the same. It’s dry; whatever oils or vitamins or glycerin were in the old style definitely not in this one.Used to have a nice glide feeling when shaving, this was like using regular bath bar soap.Whoever they contracted this product out to missed the boat completely. Might as well be a cheap soap puck sold in a bulk pharmacy rack. If it’s still the same company, the product manager needs to be fired.

Bring some joy back to shaving
Shaving used to just be a drudging task every day. I still wish there was an easier way to shave quickly, but using this shaving soap and a suitable shaving brush, made of badger hair, makes it a bit more enjoyable. I enjoy connections with older processes...in this case, doing it the 'old-fashioned' way. Also, this method of softening up the beard doesn't leave much to 'throw away.' It is a much greener way of doing things. I'd prefer they sold the soap in paper packages, but I throw these plastic containers (which seem to be the actual molds for the production of the soap) in the recycle bin.I generally like 'scent free' lotions and soaps, which is why I like this...the almond is a very light scent, which is pleasant enough, but I don't smell it more than a couple of minutes after shaving. If you use a shaving brush, I definitely recommend this product.

Love This Stuff.
Let me start off by saying that I have used many shaving products as I am an adventurous wet shaver currently using a Muhle safety razor with an Art of Shaving badger brush. I tried a colonel conk variety pack a year ago and have since bought 6 more almond soaps. This stuff is is amazing. It lathers up extremely well and smells just great. It also provides a great razor stroke as well. This will always be a staple in my shaving supply drawer. Also I usually melt my colonel conks in a pottery shave bowl I have, which reduces mess and helps in the ease of use. You can microwave or melt in a bowl in a sauce pan, both work fine for me and it molds nicely to the bowl once cooled. The fridge for a few minutes speeds up the cooling process. Grade a soap Ol' Sport. Grade A.

Terrrific soap
Edit:Now that I've been using this soap for about a month, I am adjusting my review. With a couple more weeks' experience with the brush I find lathering my shaving soaps far easier than I did when I started. Now that most of my soaps and my TOBS creams give me a nice rich lather, I'm finding the lather from the Col. Conk to be a bit lacking in comparison. It isn't that it is a bad lather, but compared to most, it is a bit on the thin side (no matter how I adjust the amount of water, soap or change up my technique). I would like the scent to be a little stronger (it is a terrific scent, it is just a bit lacking in intensity). Finally, I agree with those who say that it has a tendency to dry my face. All in all I still say it is a nice shave soap and I'm only dropping it to 4 stars. Overall, it is a good soap, while the lather is somewhat thin, it lathers easily, and it provides a decent amount of lubrication for your shave. Use an aftershave balm or moisturizer after shaving. Pricing is very good. I still recommend it (subject to change as I try more soaps of course), just not quite as strongly as I did initially. Do I still plan to re-order? Yes, my favorite soap or cream for wet shaving at this point is the TOBS Almond, but you can buy 3 pucks of this shave soap for around the price of one tub of the TOBS and at that price this is definitely a great dealOriginal Review:Terrific shaving soap. The smell is fantastic. I love almond, and it has a nice scent of almond, but without being overpowering. It quickly and easily works to a thick, rich lather. I have been using shaving soaps for a few years, but I only recently have been doing them right. Before I used to just later a soap in my hands and apply it to my face and I only recently bought brushes and a soap bowl. I didn't know what I was missing. Anyway, the point is that, while not new to shaving soaps over canned creams, I am inexperienced using shaving brushes and lathering properly, and if I as a beginner at this find it easy to lather, it is definitely an easy lathering soap. As for the shave experience, I have several other soaps and a tub of Taylor of Old Bond Street cream, and this provides a similarly smooth and well protected shave as the more expensive soaps. Finally, the cost of these is an outright bargain. I will definitely be ordering more of this in the future.

What arrived was NOT what I ordered!!!
What I ordered was Col. Conk World's Famous Shaving Soap Almond--3 pack--Each Net Weight 2.25 Oz.In the past and clearly pictured on your site, the soap comes in a plastic container, fresh and aromatic. What I got was a 3 pack of flat soaps, no aroma, and only 2 Oz. each. Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!
