The design does fade after awhile
I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. They have each been using these since they started eating at around 6 months. The size of the dishware is still appropriate for my 5 year old. They may be small, but there is plenty of room on the plate for all of the food she would want in a meal. Just not a cob of corn. Everything else fits. It's obvious now, but when I bought the set I didn't realize that the engraved image in the middle of the plate and on the side of the cup would fade over time. I'd say it took about 4 years to happen. The image is completely gone from the plate and faint but recognizable on the cup. My son just turned two and his dishware is as vibrant as the day I purchased it. Clearly, the image on his will begin to wear down as well.So my conclusion is that these are still wonderful for all of the reasons I purchased them (no plastic, no breakage, as set of their own) and I love them, but they aren't exactly heirloom quality because the designs aren't very well placed.

This is a great solution for kid dishes. Safe material and great in the dishwasher. Durable thick stainless steel.
My wife, kids, and I are extremely satisfied with these dishes. They are much thicker than most stainless steel items. I was surprised with the durability. They're solid. We are also conscious of BPA, Phthalates, and other long term dangers of plastics so we like this safe option. We have purchased many BPA free plastic dishes which we do not put in the dishwasher so it makes for more handwashing. Wish I could go back and buy this before the plastic junk. This item seems expensive, but if you consider that it will never need replaced, it may be more cost effective than you think (cheaper than replacing plastic junk 5 times).Pros:Safe / not a health risk (unlike plastic)Extremely durable / high qualityGreat for putting in the dishwasherattractiveitems stack wellgood size for childrenCons:Expensive (again unless you consider that this will never need replaced.)It is pretty rare that I'm completely satisfied with an item. There isn't anything that I do not like about these dishes. It is expensive, but still a great value since the quality is so high. I would definitely recommend buying this dish set. Maybe buy 5 of them :-)

Not too small and outstanding quality!
I have to say after getting frustrated with MANY stainless steel products (either rusting or becoming unsanitary with too many crevices to trap food/water), I was hesitant to order this one due to the price and fact some reviewers complained about it being too tiny. However, I was very pleased once we received it as it was bigger than I pictured and just perfect for what toddler/young child portion sizes SHOULD be...and we usually give my son one serving and then refill if he asks for "nother one" :) The cup specifically is perfect for little hands. Had an issue with some adhesive in the packaging getting on the inside of the cup, but with some elbow grease, got it off. Many people swear by the quality of this set lasting them years and still going strong, even after dishwashing. The design is cute, and the quality is the absolute BEST I have ever seen for this type of item. Non-toxic and completely unbreakable. I will be looking to get more of these sets ASAP!!!

Worry free dish set
We enjoy this dish set for our toddler as an excellent alternative to plastic dishware that won't break like glass and is easier to maintain than wood dishes. Although the bowl appears small, it holds the right serving size of food for our active toddler. There was some adhesive residue from the packaging tape left on the cup, but it was not difficult to remove when I washed the dishes prior to first use. We have used this dish set everyday for about a month so far and love being worry free about its safety and durability!Update: Nearly a year later, this product is still performing at the same level of quality for us. Although the price would be restrictive to us now, I do not regret purchasing this set for my daughter's health and safety when she was learning to eat independently. As a three year old now, the size of the dishes are still adequate for her eating patterns. If she ever wants more, it is of course not a problem to provide seconds. :)

A set to grow with
We are so glad we spent the money on this set. Each piece is nicely weighted. It is awesome that you can put them in the dishwasher. The size of each item is perfect for little hands. For those who feel it is too small, I would have to very much disagree. Unless you are feeding a school-aged child, these items are the perfect size. You can always refill them if your child wants more. I find that we use perfect portion sizes with these which means less chance of overfeeding or throwing food away. The bowl is perfect from the moment you start solids. It's perfect for little snacks too. Our son is 22 months old and he's getting better at drinking from the cup each day too. The only improvement I could wish for is a slip-proof base on the plate. Otherise, we're really happy with this set. No more bubbling/peeling plastic plates from dishwasher cleaning.

Durable, cute, but too small
This set is very durable and good quality but the plate and bowl are just too small. The cup is a good size for little ones learning how to use a cup but the bowl is too tiny, you could fit an uncut small apple in it,and the plate is just large enough to fit a whole uncut sandwich on it end to end.The fork and spoon are ok. The fork is dull like most toddler forks I guess, and the spoon has a round shape rather than oval and has little depth to it so it's ok for something more solid like yogurt but with cereal it won't hold the milk. Had I seen this in the store, I would not have paid $40 for it.

Nice, Simple Set for Kids
I've had this set for 6 months now. My 3 year old seems to do fine with it, and it has held up well. I hand wash it, but the bowl has been dropped tons of time and has held up great without any dents or dings. The bowl does slide around a bit (versus the plastic bowls we have with the rubber base), but I think that's just a trade off. The cup is light and easy enough for my son to hold and drink from. I saw some comments that this set is tiny, but the small plate size has worked for us. I'd actually rather give my son two small servings than pile on all the food at once, but that's totally just personal preference.
