Functional but not ideal.
The size almost fits my intended Bible. There are two things that are a problem with this case. First, the zipper pull is a Christian fish symbol. This is great visually and very annoying to use. A standard zipper pull would both be more usable and less flashy visually. Second, the handle is mounted so that it pulls against the stitching, rather than pulls along a seam as in good designed packs. This will age much quicker than it should.The 4 pen slots are great inside. However, I worry about the longevity of the clear vinyl pocket inside. I don't think this is a durable as using the cover nylon material for this pocket. I also would prefer the carry handle on the zipper side. When you pick up the Bible by the handle, it slides forward to the edge of the cover. Then when you reverse to open, it slides back. Having a handle on the other side would eliminate this play and put carrying weight against the spline, where it is best supported.

Buyer beware: Inaccurate dimensions and, get this: NOT RETURNABLE!!!
I really do not understand what it is with Bible cover manufacturers which causes them to be completely inept with the proper use of a measuring tape. Someone had to measure the materials to make the thing, but apparently the Marketing Department does not communicate with the Manufacturing Department... at MY LOSS!The dimensions listed are: XL measures: 7.25" x 10.125" x 2.25"The dimensions are actually 11.0" x 8.0" x 2.0". This is unacceptable and does not fit my daughter's new Bible.I attempted to process a return and I discovered that this item is not returnable. REALLY???I will never patronize Divinity Boutique again.

Durable and Purposeful
A perfect, simple Bible cover. I'm not partial to leather/faux leather kinds of Bible covers. The nylon material doesn't suggest "cheap" or "low-quality" in the least. Instead, it suggests "durable" and "purposeful."The dimensions given in the description are precise. For the record, I have a Thompson Chain Reference, which is quite a hefty Bible and it's a perfect fit.The pen holders, pocket, and bookmark ribbon are great bonuses.

Worked fine until the zipper broke
Like some of the other reviewer’s, I was looking for a cover for my leather bound life application study Bible. The generic large covers are just too small, and several of the other larger covers I found were too big. This one was just the right size, but just barely a year later the zipper broke.

Durable travel cover
A review of Divinity Boutique Bible Cover Basic Navy, Extra Large (21441). Divinity Boutique navy XL 21441 bible cover. Excellent, very durable cover. Has handy pocket inside for convenience. Roomy enough to also carry highlighters. Understated, durable protection for the Bible. Great for travel and keeping the Bible close at hand during your day instead of dusty on a shelf.Update September 2018. Three months of travel and still looks new with no issues. Added two photos to show quality.
