Good demo
Exactly what I needed. I have used this to demonstrate what a virus does and looks like to my grade 7 class.

Purchased for classroom
These handy little items are great for allowing students to interact with lessons in ways that go beyond PowerPoint presentations. What's even better, the virus replica is made of pretty strong stuff; strong enough, at least, to withstand the occasional freshman male who prefers to toss it around the room rather than hand it off. Overall, this is a nifty item that enhances lessons and serves as a mnemonic device.

I wish it was sturdier though
Pros:1. You can take it apart2. I like the fact that it has glycoproteins sticking out of the lipid membrane3. You can access the capsid and genome.4. It's a 4D modelCons:1. Flimsy and falls part easily.2. The glycoproteins fall off and get lost.3. It's difficult to put back together again.I still use it as a teaching tool although it's flimsy. It gets the point across. Great idea, bad execution.

Beautiful, perfect for class demos!

conceptually ok, but quality lacking
I purchased the model for a volunteer classroom talk on infectious disease epidemiology. Sadly, I had the same experience as Wayne W. At least five of the envelope proteins had fallen off during shipment, and the membrane wouldn't close properly. I attempted to glue the pieces together, but I have doubts that it will hold up during my presentation.
