This item is amazing! I bought it for my school Chinese class and never would expect how HUMONGOUS it is! Everyone said I have the coolest calligraphy set; and even though it doesn't have a paperweight or little spoon for JUST the right amount of water; the ink is amazingly dark and everything is just like it's case, HUGE!!! All five brushes are different sizes for your level of calligraphy master(ing); and the box is very sturdy. It even comes with practice paper, handy and extremely detailed instructions, and starter words to write with stroke order and everything! I'm thrilled and couldn't imagine having ANY other calligraphy set!

great for beginner. i love the set. i currently use the brushes with water and a magic cloth. it did not come with a little spoon, BUT what i did was, i purchased a small amber bottle with a dropper within it to store water in. in a way, that idea completed the set. works AMAZINGLY.Update: 2014... the set DOES come with the spoon. It was wedged in the side padding and bumping it around made it fall out... so...yes, i am very happy with this set.

One of the sets came and was completely busted up. Have to return . The other set the brushes are nice and the accessories are nice for a starter set as well. Just the packaging left everything all over in the box.

It has everything any beginner could want to start practicing Chinese calligraphy. The case is nice, the brushes ok. red ink very good, black ink stick great, ink stone it does the job, brush stand is nice.
