TEKTROAlloy Cyclo Cross Brake Levers, 24mm Clamp

I used these to add brake levers up on the bars. They worked great for that and makes getting on and off the bike a lot easier.

I changed out the straight bar on my hybrid for a drop bar and Shimano brifters. I liked the setup but thought that having to shift hand position to reach the brakes when riding on the top of the bars wasn't terribly safe. I added these inline levers this weekend and they are just the ticket, brakes are in easy reach in any position on the bars. The specifications say not to use them with linear pull brakes but my bike is equipped with "Tektro Linear pull 'V' type" brakes and these levers work just fine. They seem to have more than enough mechanical advantage and the brakes release just fine. The ones I received were all black as shown.Installation requires one to unwrap the bar tape at least halfway (I had to unwrap most of the tape to allow enough movement in the brifter so the cable would push out.) Position the the brake lever on the bare bar where you want them, pull the brake cable out of the cable housing, (at least past the point where you need to cut the housing) cut the housing and insert it into the lever, feed the cable through the lever and into the other part of the brake housing and reattach the brake cable as before, and re-wrap the handlebar. Really pretty simple. The only tools needed are appropriate sized hex wrenches, a cable/housing cutter, and possibly some needle nose pliers.

This model lever is often billed as an interrupter, meaning that it can be placed in-line between a primary lever and the brake, giving a rider two positions for braking. But it can also be the primary lever. There aren't many mountain-style levers that will fit a road bar at 23.8, so this is a good thing.UPDATE: I have used these for a year as primary brake levers, mounted on the ends of a mustache bar. They have performed without a problem! Very smooth coupled to DuraAce calipers with KoolStop pads. Recommended.

Have always loved having the extra brake levers. These work great. Easy to instal.

I measureed the diameter if my bike before purchasing and this fit perfectly on the 24 mm size. I needed two sets for two bikes; It is easy to install in-line break handles for caliper breaks. Make sure to get end capsand in-line female wire caps from bike dealer for about a dollar.

I purchased this as an additional cross brake for my dropbar bicycle for ride comfort. Works nicely at a good price point.

This product is just right for my use but came silver and not black as ordered.

Great handles. Easy to install. Can be used as stand alone handles, Just have to run the brake line through the handle first and then down to the caliper. Low profile and feel great.

Look great and fit with my single speed bike.

取付は説明書通りの手順で難なく出来る。ブレーキレバーからインナーケーブルを外すと取付が面倒なので、アウターのみ外して取り付けた方が作業が楽だった。操作性は補助レバー全般に言えると思われるが、ブレーキの利く反応がワンテンポ遅れる感じがする。但し、バーハンドルの様な握り方の時に常にブレーキレバーに指が掛かっているので、楽な姿勢で安心して乗れる。
