Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose (Classic Seuss)

The funny things with Dr Seuss books is that we as parents, buy them for our kids but in the end.. we learn a thing or two too. The art here is excellent without being flashy. The wordplay, story and characters are fun. It’s capitalism and individual sovereignty having a go at socialism. Well done Dr Seuss. Well done. Get this one before it gets banned like some of his other books. Dr Seuss was, and will continue to be a gift.

I have to be honest here. Not my favorite book, but not horrible. I bought this strictly on speculation. I figured with all of the crazy cancel culture in the world, this may be next. So I bought it to put away. The story is pretty cute with an ending that many may find distasteful. We are hunters so we are not offended by that. If you don’t like hunting then I would think twice before purchasing this.

This is a bit long, but unlike a lot of Dr. Seuss books, where you can skip several pages because it's nonsense, this one actually has a plot that you have to follow. It's a great indictment of communism/socialism, the welfare state, and immigration. Surprisingly good read for rightward folks.

I bought this book used. It was in excellent condition. The only way anyone would know it was used is that it has someone's name on the inside cover. As for the story, it is one of my favorite lesser known Dr. Seuss books.

The book is of course fun. It is the story of a moose that is nice and kind and taken advantage of by other animals...until she breaks free and learns to take care of herself (or put herself first).it is a little dark in its message. SPOIL alert: the animals who take advantage of the moose end up dead.It gives the message that you should care for yourself first.Not a bad message by itself and certainly in the context of this story it makes sense, but some parents might not be ready to discuss such a point with their young or very children.Overall, the book is nice but the message is such that you need to know you might get more questions that you are ready to answer.

This has to be my favorite Dr. Seuss book! It is nice to revisit favorites from my childhood. Especially since woke culture is trying to cancel out everything fun.

I always loved Dr Seuss books, and now my kids love them too. Every time we have a birthday or Christmas, we look for more.Thidwick is a typically off-the-wall story about a moose, but it also has some slightly educational value to it, as it tells you something about the moose that you or your kids might not have known.As with all our Dr Seuss books, we read it again and again.

Interesting story about all sorts of animals taking advantage of Thidwick, who's to kind to everyone. It reminds me of  The Cat in the Hat (Dr Seuss Green Back Books)  in that Thidwick's situation gets much worse before it gets better. The Cat in the Hat (Dr Seuss Green Back Books)

Another fun Dr Suess book. My sister loves all things Dr Suess.

Dr Seuss is such a good writer and his stories can be read over and over and over and over.
