Sloppy packaging. Rough grind mechanism
My previous Made in China grinder from Zwilling fell apart in less than a year.Decided to go higher end..Peugeot made in France. Was surprised to see the sloppy packaging...the item was popped into a small OPEN plastic bag...not even tied with a tie tag. Not surprisingly, It fell out of the bag during shipping leaving salt all over the inside of the shipping box.When I operated the crank with the salt provided, it was VERY rough..not at all smooth. I may have something to do with the mechanism. Peugeot manufactures only one stainless steel grinding mechanism for BOTH salt and pepper.Many chefs prefer hard ceramic for salt mills. Peugeot say their stainless steel is as good as (better) than ceramic. I question this. Salt crystals are quite different than peppercorns. I will return this and replace with a Cole and Mason made in England ceramic mill

Optisch perfekt, funktionell mittel
Die Pfeffer- und Salzmühle sehen wunderschön aus, der Deckel mit Magnetverschluss ist eine nette Idee. Das Mahlwerk funktioniert so einwandfrei, wie man es von einer Peugeot Mühle erwartet, die Mahgradeinstellung ist dem Preisniveau jedoch nicht angemessen. Total labbrige Positionierung des Stellrings, d.h. man muss immer aufpassen wo und wie man die Mühle anfasst um den Ring beim Drehen nicht zu fassen und zu verstellen

Beautiful and functional
I purchase these as a pair (both salt and pepper mill) to replace a beautiful but less qualitative pair I received as a gift years ago. The quality of the Peugeot mill is definitely worth the price. Wish I would have made the switch to these years ago!
