Does what it says on …… on the tin.ideal for anyone with damaged fingers

I bought this an a disability aid due to increasing difficulties with my hands, it is amazing, you simply plonk it on the tin so the blade is up to the edge, press the button, stand back and watch. It goes around and removes the lid. When finished it stops, you lift it up and, if steel the lid is stuck to the can opener, and hey presto, opened tin!. The opened tin has a rolled edge, so you couldn’t cut yourself if you tried, in the interests of consumer testing I tried, nothing, I’m thinking of repurposing tins for seedlings now the edges are that smooth. The lid is equally safe to handle. The unit is light enough, nice and bright, it does make a bit of a racket going round, but it’s well worth putting up with. I used it on a tin with a ring pull on it, it took the lid off that without any issue whatsoever, I did wonder if it would get snagged on the ring pull. Lnger term I wonder how long the batteries will last, and whether this could have been fitted with a rechargeable high power battery, maybe when they do version 3.0.

I opened this recently almost after 2 months of buying as I did not need to use one until recently. Unfortunately it does work , I tried on all different cans as instructed on manual! I’m back on the cheap mechanical can opener! There is no product support available ! I will not recommend this to anyone. If you do buy it then immediately also buy a CAN to test it. So you are atleast eligible to return it !

Very handy

We have tried so many manual openers. None come anywhere near to the efficiency of this battery operated piece of equipment. Delivered yesterday, tried it out tonight, terrific, clean edges, top lifts off attached to small magnet. Great to watch, press the button, and watch the tin spin. Need more tins to open urgently.👍😳🤓

I have problems opening cans because of arthritis but this gadget has solved that problem.I wish that I had bought one of these before:it’s brilliant.

I actually like this in every regard but one. You can probably guess what that may be from the headline: oh boy is this loud. My neighbour was playing Motorhead at full volume and knocked on the door asking if I could turn it down a bit as he couldn't hear the music. My wide demands five minutes notice before I use it so she can put on the appropriate pair of industrial strength ear defenders.More seriously, although it really is very loud, it works very well indeed. I have very weak grip/strength following extensive spinal surgery and am defeated by ring pulls. This is so easy to use, almost ridiculously so. Place on top of can, even ring-pull ones, press the big red button, put your fingers in your ears and wait for 30 seconds or so until it has completed a 360. Press the button again, remove fingers from ears, and the lid comes away with the opener, no sharp edges, perfect.Apart from the noise. Did I mention it was loud?

I purchased this item as I have several cans that my can opener fails to open. I had hoped the position of the blade would make the difference. Unfortunately, it did not.

After all the “positive” reviews I decided to buy one. Worked the first time I had to open a can. The second time I had to use it was three weeks later and it wouldn’t work. Tried to return it to Amazon but they wouldn’t take it, I had to email the manufacturer and explain the problem. They ended up sending me a replacement which worked the first time. When I tried to open a second can, it wouldn’t work. Not worth trying a third time so I just threw both in the trash and bought a manual opener from a different brand. I should have requested a refund but I was too upset to contact the manufacturer.

It used to take me at least 5 minutes to open some finger-numbing cat-food cans (twice a day) with a safety opener, so this has been one of my favourite buys: it opens even the toughest cans effortlessly, and I can just start it off and do something else while it works.
