Genovese Basil DOP Pesto by Ascheri 1960 (6.3 ounce)

Wonderful taste, best pesto I've ever had. But two separate jars were both leaking when I received them.

Didn't taste as fresh or as basil like as I prefer my pesto.

Cannot tell if product taste good or bad because it leaked when received.

This is a really good jarred pesto. I bought this at my local store this morning and I'm amazed at how good it tastes. Store bought, jarred pesto can be a real crap-shoot. You never know what you'll get and the variations in flavors and textures go from nice and balanced to "what the heck were they thinking when they made this?" I actually stay away from store pesto most of the time just because of that but this was on sale so I gave it a shot. It's very well balanced meaning just nutty enough, just cheesy enough without overpowering (most of the others do), and just slightly sharp which really rounds out this pesto nicely. It even looks well balanced when you open the jar. I've tried half a dozen other brands and this is the best by far.

This has a nutty flavor. One of the best pesto's I have tasted. Make sure of the date as this can lose its flavor. I love this stuff with many kinds of pasta.
