Just What I needed
I needed a low profile connector to clear the fender on my Ram pickup. This did the job perfectly. When I purchased this coax I guess I didn't read that I had to solder the connector to the coax. Not a big deal, broke out the soldering gun and did their work for them. Overall good purchase.

Excellent Youtube video by Right ChannelRadio for this product.
Though this comes with fairly vague instructions in terms of how it mounts to your antenna mount, there is a Youtube video by Right ChannelRadios that lays it out to the point my 5 year old daughter could put it together. The side with the white plastic ring protruding about 2-3mm's should face UP towards top of antenna. It fits up UNDER your metal antenna mount, then the bolt goes up through the bottom and you screw your two-ended adapter and lock washer onto bolt. THEN, on top of that goes your heavy duty spring ( if you choose to use one) and then your whip. Viola!!Soldering the other end is easy peasy also. Doesnt have to be beautiful- just a good metal-to-metal connection. Use one of your wifes cookie sheets in the cab so you dont burn a hole in your floorboard. An old cookie sheet comes in handy for all kinds of nonsense, btw.

Looking forward to some great radio transmission
The "donut" end is well made, make sure you meter the center conductor / shield conductor for proper alignment when attaching to antenna. Also - this (18') model ships with the PL-239 connector removed, to allow the antenna coax to be passed thru the firewall or body panel with minimal opening size. There is an included grommet, and clear plastic loop hold down for the coax penetration and secure mounting to prevent chaffing. The coax is 95% and well made - right on spec with tested with my DVOM unit. Looking forward to some great radio transmission. Using with Uniden 980, FireStik k4 mount and 5' antenna.

good mounting solution
looks the same as picture only thing they dont tell you is that you have to do a little tiny amount of soldering to complete installation. but reason you have to do this so that its easier to route. basically the screw on coax connector comes off so that you can easily route the wire/get it trough small holes in the body/dash etc. that was a nice feature but wish i didnt have to solder. my buddy had a similar wire from another company and the big coax connector came off for easy routing but would simply screw back on without soldering. wasnt hard, and didnt need but a few drops of solder, but would be nice to know, and should be included in description online. not everyone has a soldering iron, luckily i did. by the way 18 feet was perfect for my application. routing the wire from the antenna in the very back of my truck, thru the truck bed, under the body ziptied to the frame, and to the cb radio under my dash of a ford ranger, had maybe a foot or two of extra cable which i just zig zagged a little under the carpet of the cab.

Perfect length for my vehicle
I'm not sure what happened to the reviewer who said he had to solder the connections himself. Mine arrived (and very quickly, I might add) just like the picture. I'm using it on my '07 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X (4 door model) and mounted it at the base of the CHMSL (rear center brake light). Like one of the other reviewers stated you have to make sure it is mounted with the ring right-side up. I believe you make sure the metal side of the ring is touching the metal surface you're mounting it to so you have a correct ground. I'm pretty good with electronics but I'm no mechanic by any stretch and this was fairly easy for me to do. Purchased it with a Firestick antenna and a spring-loaded quick disconnect and got free shipping on everything, thanks to Amazon!

and have been very pleased. This is permanently attached
In the past I've used a CB antenna wire that you crimped into your antenna mount. This would jiggle loose over time, and need to be fixed often -- or would fail due to ice bridging in the winter, or a number of issues. For these reasons, I ordered one of these with the built in fire ring recently, and have been very pleased. This is permanently attached, and well insulated so you don't have to worry about any of the above. You set it and forget it, rather than always worrying about if your CB radio is working right or not. Improper wiring / grounding out, etc can ruin your CB radio also, and you don't want that! I'd highly recommend going with this wire, so you can eliminate worry and trouble mentioned above.

18' is way too much for my applications and one of the things that makes this nice is that the PL connector is not terminated on
2nd time I've bought this product. Both times were for jeeps. 18' is way too much for my applications and one of the things that makes this nice is that the PL connector is not terminated on the end yet. That means it's much easier to route the cable and that I can cut it to the right length without having to go to Radio Shack or someplace similar and get another connector. If you have any soldering skills at all you're fine. If you aren't sure you do (or you've never soldered before) there are plenty of videos on Youtube and elsewhere that will have you going in no time.

Poor Quality Control
Wow! Talk about poor quality control! This cable came without the the bolt to hold the fire ring to the bracket and the solder joints on the PL-259 connector are cold solder's and the center conductor doesn't even make contact with the center pin. I need this cable for an install I'm doing today, so I'll have to cut and re-terminate the end, but that's not what you should have to do for the price they charge for this product.

Solid grounding...
Thought this may be a challenge to find a good grounding, but with a little thought and some paint removal, no issues. I am seeing 1.2 SWR and it is rock solid. Will have to see how it holds up over time as I jus put it in and will get its first workout in about 2 weeks,

Exactly as stated
Got exactly what the description stated. Came with everything you need to hook up your antenna. Hoping this will fix my swr readings. Cheap price and came very quick.
