I honestly would have given this Yakata Kimono 5 stars... However the medium is too small & the XL too large. I'm 5'7 122lbs & the medium wont close at the bottom, while the robe tie strings are exceptionally high; practically under my boobs. Otherwise it's well crafted & made of a heavy cotton canvas. The XL fits but it's a bit too bulky. So, a mid range size L with a longer waistline would be wonderful. All things considered though this is the best designed KIMONO on AMAZON. Its genuine quality & perfectly functional; if it happens to be your correct size.

I am 175 with a 45" chest and got the XL. This is elegant looking but not too much, in my opinion some of the silk prints out there are too loud. its is simple to put on. the photo made it look confusing but there is an armpit hole, and a hole in the waist wrap to bring one side of the tie through each piece. Then just tie in the back. no wrapping it around yourself a bunch of times. it fits how a traditional kimono should fit. This is not a nighty or a sexy outfit. I am heavier than the model in black, but the kimono fits me just as it does on her. Very flattering.

My husband got me the medium yellow and black kimono, but it was much too big! He’s tall (6’2) but small-framed (~160 lbs), and it actually fits him pretty well and looks surprisingly amazing lol. It comes down to about his calf and the arms come to just above his wrists. It’s a quality, gorgeous garment that I would say definitely works for either male or female. It’s just that given the sizes available, a female has to be over 5’2 & 100 pounds for this kimono not to swallow her!

High quality garment. Fabric is not sheer or flimsy. The only thing is that the fabric is a little stiff at first, but that will probably soften as time goes on and the garment is washed. I’m very satisfied with the product and the price.
